Several years ago, I decided that my future in the restaurant business would most likely not remain in the realm of fine dining and gourmands, but would rather lean towards the style of restaurant that I found myself frequenting most often - places that provided consistency and quality at a price that was fair for the quality of the food and experience. Public House plays to the comforts of good, solid food, while applying the principles of premium food products to a more casual setting. You will find all the fish is delivered from Foley’s in Boston, high quality steaks and a rotating selection of vegetable sides that are true to the region and season. You’ll also find a really good hamburger and fish sandwich, along with fun snacks and small plates that pair well with cocktails, beer and wine.

Storm warnings and really ughly weather so like most restaurants were closing early to let employees home early. Got the last reservation for 7 PM. Greeted and welcomed us and seated us. Bartender’s old fashioned of the day was excellent. Server recommended the trout as his favorite. I have to admit he was right. Best I have ever had. Even though they had let some people go home early the service, food, place was outstanding. You won’t go wrong with this place. Cheers

We have enjoyed the Public House as our Chattanooga favorites. Tonight I feel the food quality was not as usual experience. Taste seemed to have changed. Ordered same items as in past and not as pleasing.

Just ok. When I made the reservation (weeks ahead of time) it listed lots of options for seating but no description of what the areas were. Not having been to this restaurant before, I selected no preference. We ended up being seated in a noisy, cold area which reminded me of a cafeteria. We asked to be moved but were told there were reservations for all the open tables. I realized later there were at least 2 other rooms that were much more pleasant and much nicer than for a special dinner out. Service was ok but we felt rushed. Food was just ok.
