Accessed from the High Street and through a glass lobby, Quod restaurant with its terrace and bar, forms the hub of the Old Bank Hotel. Formerly a banking hall it was transformed by owner Jeremy Mogford to become Oxford's largest and most successful restaurant. Stylish, contemporary design describes the space which houses an amazing collection of young British art. Sandra Blow, Craigie Aitchinson and Gary Hume adorn the walls. There is a spectacular terrace where diners can enjoy a morning coffee, the superb value two course lunch or a cocktail.

    Quod and the Old Bank Hotel have a large secure private car park and is accessed via an automated barrier. Priority is given to hotel guests though spaces are readily available throughout the weekdays.

    Take part in the most traditional English pastime of afternoon tea in the heart of Oxford. With its large windows looking onto the famous colleges, Quod is the perfect stopping point during a walk of the city. Enjoy classic egg & cress or ham and mustard sandwiches, homemade scones with clotted cream and jam and a cup of tea or perhaps a glass of champagne.     Excellent dinner enjoyed by both of us. The quality of the food, menu choices and service were all of a superb standard . The decor and ambience of the restaurant all added to a very enjoyable evening. We will certainly look forward to dining here again.

    We asked for a quietish table and were given one promptly without question. We thought this was a very good start and thereafter everything went very smoothly: helpful and friendly waitress, excellent service and all four of us were impressed with the delicious food.

    Delicious food, I made a good choice (helped by the waiting staff) of salmon salad. The other members of our party also enjoyed their food and wine. Our waitress was great, very attentive when needed. Well done Quod!

    Excellent staff and lovely food as always. Good selection on the menu. The Sunday roasts looked very good too. I found the noise levels rather high, but it was prime time at Sunday lunchtime, so can’t complain.

    Food and drinks were amazing. Service was great even though the restaurant was busy. An amazing evening for our Christmas meal. Wonderful Christmas decorations inside and outside. Highly recommended.

    The watiress who served us was exceptional: informative, engaged and engaging. Able to recommend wine with authority by explaining the reason for her recommendation, whilst also giving a taste of the alternative my wife had first selected. Similarly recommended food plates (polenta and mushroom starter, and anchovy sauce on tenderstem brocholli side). All recommendations were exellent. My wife's fish cake was not acceptable, being mainly breadcrumb or potato, with only a small pocket of fish, and therefore tasting bland rather than of fish. Waitress took the plate off the bill without quibble and before we requested any gesture. Our table was adjacent to the connecting door from the restaurant to the hotel reception. The door was used frequently and often left open which was drafty and on several occasions we closed the door ourselves. The door closer seemed not to be working. Overall however, a very pleasant meal. Remainder of the food was excellent and the ambiance was buzzy and warm - we benefitted from Christmas lights being up throughout the restaurant.
