Riccardo was born in Florence, Italy and grew up in Boston, MA. Marybeth, a Sioux Falls native, ventured to the east coast as a nanny and then nursing school in Somerville, MA. The two met, fell in love, and became engaged on Martha’s Vineyard island. Moving back to Sioux Falls in 1999 and working at several area restaurants, they opened R Wine Bar in 2018. As owners of R Wine Bar, Riccardo and Marybeth are passionate about one thing: people. They believe that people don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care. With a curated wine list, local craft beer on tap, and beautifully executed menu, Riccardo and Marybeth are thrilled to bring R Wine Bar & Kitchen to the East Bank of Downtown Sioux Falls along with their General Manager, Jane Allen, Assistant Manager Bailey Bernal, Sous Chef Caleb Carr, Sous Chef Esteban Gonzalez, and Culinary Director Adam Schumacher.

We had the best meal! The sea bass was amazing. Great service from Ruth our waitress. Love this place and can’t wait to go back!

Went for lunch a little bit after they opened. Service was great, the staff was attentive and friendly. Food was AMAZING!! And so was the wine.

Really great lunch spot in town. Panini options are numerous and they all taste great. Service is always welcoming and the management, Ms Jane, is a gem. Highly and always recommended.

As usual, it was fantastic all around. Our family visited from Texas and the only places we could imaging taking them to eat was one the Tarabelsi restaurants.

Food has always been excellent and we enjoyed the brunch items as well today. Our server was outstanding and very helpful answering all our questions. The music did get a little loud at times but we still enjoyed it!

It was the first time at the R Wine and Bar and it was a wonderful experience! The food was excellent and our waitress was amazing. We did enjoy a live band while we ate. Will definitely go back again.
