Ramen-san is a bold and energetic neighborhood joint that slings hot noodles, ice-cold beer and rare expressions of Japanese whisky all to the tune of the best ’90s hip-hop in town. It respects the traditions but keep things uniquely untraditional in its yuzu sake bombs, crispy dumplings, spicy kimchi fried ramen and more. The restaurant is open for lunch, dinner and late-night dining seven days a week.

                                                                      Great experience as always! Tried the crab Rangoon for the first time—-outstanding! Got one of our staples, the sticky Thai wings, and then two bowls of Ramen (add fried garlic). Also, the Chinese broccoli side is really good… we get it each time.

                                                                      The host and server were very polite and attentive. My ramen chicken was flavorful and the drinks were great as well. The restaurant is in a lively section of town with other restarants and jazz clubs etc. I'll definitely revisit when in Chicago.

                                                                      We enjoyed it here, although it's hard to pinpoint why. The noise level was quite high. But the service was excellent and suggestions were well taken. The ramen was very good, not great. The appetizers were better. And the doughnuts for desert were an unexpected treat.
