We are excited to welcome you to Rania, DC's hottest destination for modern Indian food. Tom Sietsema has called our food "some of the most inspired Indian cooking in DC." At Rania, we offer homage to the time-honored traditions, rich flavors, and spices of India in an intimate, luxurious setting. We look forward to sharing our vision with you!

Presenting sophisticated, highly acclaimed 4-course prix-fixe menu, with an upcoming debut of our chef's tasting menu.

Policies:
-Dress Code: Smart Business Casual. No shorts, athletic wear, or baseball caps are allowed.
-Children under 10 are not allowed in the main dining areas.
-Reservations are available for parties of up to 6 people.
- A non-refundable deposit of $30 per person is required for parties larger than 5.
-A 20% gratuity will be added to all parties 5 or more.

    Rania's 4-course ($90) pre-fixe menu experience, with the option to add wine pairings and cocktails as desired. Available Tuesdays thru Saturdays. Note: Due to the unique nature of our cuisine, we are unable to accommodate allergies to allium, nightshade, cumin, and coriander. However, we are pleased to inform you that we can cater to vegan diets and other dietary restrictions if notified beforehand. We take pride in our ability to provide a quality dining experience to our patrons and appreciate your understanding.

    It is pure fine dining. The food is delicious from start to finish and the money you spend is worth it. The drinks presentation wise are elaborate, but maybe not needed.

    Major slippage - I had called this the best Indian I had ever tried - Tonight pork dish was dry - inediblly dry - a glass of wine was poured without offering a taste from a bottle that had been opened days earlier and was flat -

    Food was absolutely amazing, 6/5. The main dining room was quite loud for brunch, but staff was very accommodating and allowed us to move to another dining room that was much quieter.

    I loved everything about the restaurant- their decor, staffs, food and service. Food and drink were very creative and great in taste. Price is reasonable. It was a bit noisy but that makes it great for family with kids. I think it should get 2 Michelin stars ⭐️ ⭐️.

    My wife and I had our first meal at Rania on a Friday evening in early November. We chose the Chef's 7-course menu to see what all the buzz was about. Each dish was a master class for each of the senses. That's the best I can do in a short review. Years ago we were lucky enough to get a table at El Bulli on the Catalan coast and we've had many tasting menus since with very few of them memorable. This at Rania was memorable. The service also was excellent and the vibe was calm and happy. We definitely will return for another special occasion.

    We had a high expectation as this was a Michelin star restaurant. Service was good. Staff was very engaged. But, it was very noisy and loud. We had to change the seats. Cocktails were very different and presentation was on the dot. Food was very average and not worth the price you pay for it. We ordered lamb, panned and cabbage. Cabbage and lamb was below average and but panner was good. We liked their sides more than the main courses. Appetizers course 1 and course 2 were decent. I feel we make better gobi Manchurian at home. Best root kebab and aloo lachha chat was ok. Overall experience is not worth the money. We have tried better tasting menus in the past with quiet, nicer ambiance (not even in a Michelin star).

    This was a very special experience with outstanding tastes and excellent wine pairing. Unreservedly I would recommend the four course menu with the fantastic attention to the selection of wines to accompany every course choice. Tremendous service and incredible work from the ninja like approach to keeping the table uncluttered and the focus on the food and drink.
