We have one major focus: the popular German street food - schnitzel. We also have wursts made by local German meat market legend, Binkert's (Rosedale, MD). Other partnerships include a Black Forest Ice Cream Sandwich by Scoop & Paddle (Clarksville, MD).

We use fresh meats and vegetables, never frozen. The pretzels are made by hand by an Army vet who learned to make pretzels in Germany after his service. The sauces are made from scratch. Our cocktail program features both popular and obscure German spirits. The wine program consists of small-production family-owned wineries in Germany and Austria. Beer offerings include a healthy diet of imported German beers and local breweries who make German-style brews.

The beer selection was on point for a German restaurant, and the food was delicious. My family had a really good time.

They have the best German food and a beer selection that can’t be matched. The staff are very helpful with suggestions and awesome service. If you are craving a bit of authentic fare - with an excellent selection of many different German beer styles - then this is your place.

                                                                                          Great dinner tonight! We had a later reservation but went a little earlier and were seated right away. We both had specials-my husband’s favorite is the Chicken Cordon Bleu and I had the Mediterranean Schnitzel. Both were delicious and our server was terrific as well, checked back often and provided any extra needs. The drinks were on point too, I had a Tropical Sunryes and it was very tasty with unique flavors . We need to go more often, it’s so close and we’ve never had a disappointing meal. Don’t miss out on this local gem.

                                                                                          This German food is the best I’ve ever had. The pretzel appetizer was soft and flavorful. The wursts are all unique and very moist and tender. The pork schnitzel perfectly seasoned and not over cooked. The red cabbage was so well spiced and sweet, it could have been dessert. The potato cakes were very crispy (but a little in the greasy side). I wasn’t a fan of the pumpkin cheesecake. The service was as friendly but a little lacking in some basics.

                                                                                          Great meal, again! Schnitzel was perfectly cooked, served hot and was delicious! Cocktail (RK old fashioned) really hit the spot. It’s a fine tuned machine now and we are so happy to have Rathskeller so close. Mario is the best!! Musician (very talented) outside was the cherry on top!
