Since it opening in 2006, Red Pony Restaurant has impressed guests by staying true to a mission focused on cuisine and service.
Chef owned and operated, Red Pony changes its menu about six times a year with the intention of keeping ingredients the season’s freshest and the variety of dishes dynamic.
While a great deal of the menu pays homage to the Sophisticated Southern foods Chef Jason McConnell grew up on, you will also see a reflection of his travels, that drive his creativity.
It is our belief that food is something to be celebrated. We also believe that experience is a huge part of dining. Whether it be enjoying a crafted cocktail at one of our bars or enjoying dinner at the table, we want each guest to be seamlessly guided through their time at Red Pony Restaurant.
We love our community and we love food.

My wife and I had our anniversary dinner at Red Pony, and while our server and food were good, the hostess was not welcoming and seemed uninterested in being there. I know people have bad days, but not even a “goodbye” or “thank you for coming” as we were leaving is less than satisfactory.

Probably ordered the wrong meal. The carrot salad was hilariously tiny and the salmon just not that good. Folks ordered the reduced size shrimp & grits and liked it. The steak was ok…..nothing extraordinary

We sat at the bar and enjoyed our 46th anniversary dinner. We had a terrific time with the bartenders and patrons. Everything was outstanding! Our meals were world class.

We had not been to Red Pony in quite a while. I made a reservation for my husband’s birthday, and had some family surprise him. It was perfect! The meal was delicious and we had a wonderful evening!!

Annie, our server, was just right. An overall delightful evening. A bit expensive but what restaurant isn’t?

Celebrating my wife's birthday, but it was a bit of a letdown. We've dined before & normally enjoy the Red Pony, so it could have been an anomaly. Rustic ambiance is dark, brooding, & well-done. It can be tough to see the menu & hear who you're dining with. The ladies at the door were welcoming & friendly. They immediately wished my wife a happy birthday, which was thoughtful. We were seated at a charming table that overlooked Main Street. The waiter was unsure which Bourbon they pour in their classic Old Fashioned but recommended the seasonal with cranberry & chicory bitters. We got one seasonal & a Woodford. Bartenders craft superb drinks. The cuisine is of excellent quality & taste. We requested the amuse-bouche, but the waiter said it was only for first time diners. We never had it, so despite the off putting quarrel, he gave it to us. It was a rich & creamy gnocchi. It was incredible & would be ideal as an entree on the menu. Bread service is flavorful with 3 tiny muffins & 3 small pieces of focaccia; the size is adequate to cost. The bean spread with the focaccia, on past menu, was better suited to the focaccia's salty, savory flavor than the oil, which is bland. Eggplant meatballs are delectable & nice portion. Shrimp & Grits are excellent, but the dish is quite small. Our server never mentioned the special occasion (which had been noted for a month) nor wished my wife a happy birthday. Overall the stuffy & lackluster service did not match the excellent cuisine & ambience. Having been in the industry for decades, I understand that serving is a difficult job. Perhaps our unethusiastic server was inexperienced, nervous, or he was having a bad night; but it really doesn't take much to wish someone a happy birthday or recognize a special occasion. As my wife left ahead of me, upon my departure, the ladies at the desk felt very bad and were insistent upon giving 2 desserts to make up for it. I recommend dining for dinner but do not book for a special occasion.
