Reid’s Cafe is located in beautiful Sugar Mountain, NC. We love the intentional, the specific, and the well-cared-for. We work closely with our local farms and purveyors to curate fresh, seasonal menus that feature regionally sourced meats, a rotation of fresh oysters and select seafood. All of our breads, pastas, and pastries are prepared in-house daily. Our Bar offers local beers, seasonal craft cocktails, and a well chosen wine selection. We are currently operating under all Covid-19 restrictions and following all CDC and local guidelines. The health and safety of our guests and our staff is our #1 priority. Outdoor reservations are by phone only. We look forward to seeing you.

Love Reid’s and this was the best yet! Menu is constantly new and creative , service was fantastic. This is definitely a favorite date night place!

The menu is quite limited, which we knew going in. But still, the Pasta of the Day (MP - approx $25) and the Fish of the Day (MP approx $40) accounted for half of the main dish choices. Two of us chose the pasta but the portion size was less than expected and we didn't think it lived up to the promise of a "special of the day" either in taste, presentation, or amount. The appetizers we chose were underwhelming as well (focaccia, soup (best value for the money but not particularly innovative or memorable), and seafood dumplings in a spicy broth). The service and atmosphere were nice though.

It’s always a treat to drive over to Reids Cafe. We live about 35 minutes away. Great spot for a Date Night or to eat out with friends. The Chef always offers something prepared perfectly. Didn’t disappoint!!

We dined at the outside seats, and had a nice, quiet meal while enjoying the sunshine. Our meals were delicious. I had the pasta, which was truly handmade and off the charts good. My husband had the shrimp and grits, which was great too. The only improvement would have been a slightly larger portion of grits. The grits were so good! All of the meal options seemed well thought-out and unique. Everything on the menu sounded appetizing. I started with a specialty cocktail drink, an Aperol spritz with peach (the drink may be called “Ritzy Spritzy”) very tasty with a peach slice in it. The server was friendly and attentive, making for a perfect mid-week evening out. This will continue to be one of our favorite local restaurants.

My experience was disappointing. The menu was uninspiring. The noise level combined with the tight seating was uncomfortable. This restaurant is overrated.
