You will see why Rene won a most romantic award. We had a wonderful corner booth and the ambiance was amazing. The Sea Bass with Lobster tail was delicious. The petit filet was cooked to perfection. The presentation was top notch. Final touch was the chocolate soufflé. A wonderful meal in a quaint and exquisite restaurant. We highly recommend!!

Yerrible overall experience. Foie Gras arrived in a tiny plate. Evening was falling off the plate. Bad presentation. Food was room temperature. Why pork belly on foie Gras? Bad decision. Spilled food remained on the table until I asked to be cleaned up. Instead it was smeared all over white table clothe. Next course, beef tartar. In 5 star restaurant, usually a waiter mixes things like egg, mustard, etc. together. Not the case. I had to prepare it myself. SERIOUSLY??? Anchovies to go with beef tartar? Who is the chef? Does he understand French cuisine? Bad experience. Crazy prices. No quality. No creativity. No presentation. No service. Never to go back.

My daughters and I had a lovely dinner at Rene together. The food is absolutely delicious. They were so very taken aback at the fantastic variety offered on the menu. The fabulous shopping experience before dinner just added to the entire evening! This is a MUST on your trip to Sedona.

For a special occasion meal in Sedona, Rene at Tlaquepaque should be considered for its classic menu and French preparation. The wait staff was attentive but not intrusive. The kitchen hit all the right notes with the onion soup and the bisque, Dover Sole and steak frites. The only misstep was the gelato with the apple tart tartin was hard as a rock, having been pre-portioned and stored in the freezer. The tart itself was delicious.

Jessica was our server and she was very nice and professional. Our food was delicious! The steak could’ve had more seasoning but the Boursin mash potatoes were good. The sea bass was very yummy as well. Would recommend for a nice quiet dinner!

Caviar platter (with a glass of Moët et Chandon) and foie gras (with Sancerre) were amazing and filling enough as a dinner for two. But we didn’t stop there. The lamb was perfectly prepared and the fish with 1/2 Maine lobster tail was also very good. Our server, Tony, was knowledgeable and attentive. We will return, but will probably order fewer dishes next time!

We had a wonderful caviar dinner for 2. There were a couple of mistakes made by our server-wrong glass of wine brought to the table which was corrected but not on the bill and we were charged for a much more expensive glass. Didn’t notice till we left the restaurant. And our shared wagyu beef cheeks were to be divided into 2 servings by the chef but arrived at the table as a single serving with 2 empty plates. I did the dividing and serving feeling very inelegant in such an elegant restaurant. Overall my love of French food would probably bring me back to Rene when visiting Sedona, but my expectations are lowered.
Rene at TlaquepaqueResponded 3 days ago
Thank you, Sherri, for your positive comments about the caviar dinner and the ambiance. We apologize for not meeting your expectations and for the issues with the service, including the wine mix-up and the miscommunication. Your feedback is important to us, and we will bring this up in our next meeting to ensure a more seamless experience moving forward. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back and provide an improved visit that aligns with our standards of excellence.
