Very disappointed for the price. Menu looks amazing but the food is very disappointed. Any restaurant in china town will be better taste than this.

Four of us enjoyed a leisurely meal before the theatre and the service, ambiance and food were all great. One of my party said the food was the best Chinese food she had had.

Reviews seemed good so we were looking forward to this meal. The menu contained no descriptions of the meals and after asking what the two dishes on the set menu were we learnt little beyond one was rice and one was noodles' but since neither of us are particularly fussy eaters this didn't bother us that much and we both opted for the noodle option on the set menu. I was slightly concerned the request for no meat in one meal took plenty of reinforcement (including explaining all of the possible meats just to make sure) and the waitress looked a bit worried but I didn't really think it would be a problem in this day and age in a restaurant in London. It was OK (nothing more, nothing less and we were both hungry) until about 2/3rds of the way down. However at this point I did find and eat some meat. When I finally got their attention and the third person had come over (the first two listened and then went away) rather than manage the complaint in a professional way he picked up my fork and forked through my dinner picking up certain bits and telling me it was egg and not pork. His rationale was that pork came in bigger pieces and therefore this couldn't be pork! It may be over 20 years since I last ate meat but I know the texture and I know the difference between egg and meat. He did offer to cook me another dish but his insistence the first one didn't contain any meat (after double checking with the chef) gave me little hope the same wouldn't happen again and I'd totally lost my appetite by then too. There was no apology and we paid the bill in full but refused the service charge they had added on. Needless to say we will not be returning or recommending this restaurant to anyone. Even if you eat meat the food is distinctly average

This is the best Chinese food I have ever eaten. The flavours are amazing and the presentation outstanding. The staff are polite, attentive and friendly.

I have been to this restaurant many times and every time I take a friend with me they are so delighted that they say what a hidden gem this restaurant is. Not this time! The waitress was very strange. First she asked my friend where she was from, when she said she was from London the waitress asked if she was sure because normally women from London are very large. We ordered a bottle of wine and we were only given to glasses, when we asked for the rest of the bottle there was a lot of confusion and we were eventually given a full bottle after they had taken out 2 glasses. We then tried to have some dim sum to share. I don't eat meat, so we asked if they could bring dim sum that was only vegetarian or had fish (I have done this many times in the years I have gone to this restaurant regularly). We were told that was not possible Another time the waitress came with the tap water and asked if we wanted any, when I said I would have some water, she looked at my glass (not empty yet) and said I had for now and didn't give me any more tap water! After we finished out main course we were asked if we wouldn't mind moving as a table had arrived and someone was in a wheelchair. Of course we said that was absolutely fine. However, when I went to the toilet I saw 3 able bodied men (none of them in a wheelchair) sitting at the table we had given up. I then saw them walk absolutely fine and chatted at the door when they left for a while. There was nobody in wheelchair in the whole restaurant. We wouldn't have minded if they had asked if we were ok to move to another table as it was only 2 of us and there was a party of 3 that needed a table. But saying there was someone in a wheelchair is morally wrong and a lie. On top of that, the set menu now can only be had before 7pm. Which I understand that it's the restaurants decision, but it was very disappointing. I am upset and disappointed about all of this. After going here for years this may be my last time.

Bit disappointed actually after reading some of the good reviews here, was expecting the food to be excellent. Everything seemed to be dumped onto this generic, thickly sweet syrup so it all started to taste the same. It's ok but for what you get I would say it's a little overpriced. Top service though, they were really busy on the Monday night we went.

Food is ok, but the portion is too small for some dish. Music was quite loud when arrived. Told the head waitress about the noise and she turned it down later which is very good and much nicer atmosphere.

A Wong offers a somewhat limited but very well thought out menu atypical of many Chinese restaurants. The standard of cuisine is high with many original dishes. The service was welcoming, discreet and not intrusive. The wine list is comprehensive and represents good value.

Really enjoyed the food: unusual, delicious tastes and beautifully presented. Given the quality of the food we found the noisy music rather unsympathetic - it detracted from an otherwise excellent experience.
