   I would have given six stars if I could have. Everything about this restaurant was perfect, from their homemade pasta and bread, and especially the kind friendly service that makes the whole dining experience extra special. HIGHLY recommend!!!

   Saw this as 5 star rating in OpenTable. Very rarely see that. Restaurant Galu did not disappoint. Food was outstanding, menu was varied and the wait staff was amazing. Wait staff was friendly, informative and fun to interract with. They knew all about the dishes. how they were prepared and background on the restaurant and its Sicilian roots. The food itself was delicious. Loved the Eggplant Parmasan, Pappadelle with truffle cream sauce and the risotto to name a few. The bread is all made in house and the artichoke appetizer was to die for. Desserts were delicious especially the in house made gelato and the panna cotta. The interior of the restaurant was rustic industrial vibe and cool. The prices was very reasonable and a steal for the wonderful experience we had. Our overall experience was outstanding and highly recommend. Authentic Italian and we had just come from Italy so we can verify that!

   From the warm greeting when we entered, it was a really good vibe, and everything just got better from there. Service was happy, friendly and made us feel like they were genuinely glad we were there. The fresh, house-made pastas were excellent and they easily accommodated the food sensitivities (gluten and dairy) for some in our party. Started with the burrata, a caprese salad, olives, and the freshly baked bread. All were delicious and I couldn't stop eating the bread (try dipping it in the burrata). Highly recommend the risotto - it was a daily special but they always have one on the menu. Unique eggplant parmesan - not breaded so it's naturally GF but also tender and rich with flavor. Also recommend the squid ink pasta and pappardelle. For dessert, the tiramisu is quite good and their gelatos were excellent. Nice wine list, fairly priced - try the Ripasso. The restaurant layout is compact with a bar in front with a relatively small number of tables on the first floor. Upstairs there are quite a few more tables but I'd recommend the first if at all possible.

   We had been traveling through Spain for 2 weeks when we stumbled upon Galu. As residents of New York we are used to great meals. That is exactly what Galu provided and our waiter Salvador could not have been better. The artichokes and lamb chops were especially delicious. I would highly recommend.
