The restaurant was very busy , so there were delays with service . Although the website showed several menus , only one was available - the festive menu . Food was good and served hot. Would like some more interesting icecream flavours e.g. coffee and cardamom or brown bread . £140 for 2 . No starters , a main each , one side, a few scoops of ice cream , 2 coffees and a bottle of wine. Wine prices started about £48 per bottle.

Food good but not exceptional, service a bit hit and miss. Noisy restaurant with tables too close together

Service was terrible, the staff had no idea about the menu. We kept having to ask for tap water and for our wine to be topped up. They told us they needed the table back after we had asked for the bill twice. Bill was incorrect. Appreciate they are busy at Christmas, but would have expected better service for a ‘high end’ Sunday toast establishment.

Not a brilliant choice no option for a la carte on Sunday far too busy to remember the order & had to ask 3 times to get drinks. Also forgot one of the meals they didnt bother topping our wine either bottles are left behind the bar area had to request a wine cooler to be left at the table. No custard for pudding only a dollop of cream, small amount of cheese on the platter. Very disappointed in the restaurant it’s changed a lot far too many people for staff to cope.

Another fantastic meal. So lively and busy. Real party atmosphere and yet the food is delivered swiftly and excellent.

Sunday lunch, queue to get in, made stressful by entitled people trying to skip queue, despite being told we all had reservations. . Service was efficient but didn’t really interact with us, we needed to order a vegetable dish and this should have been suggested. Food was nice but £170 for two, without a bottle of wine, and no starter I would expect it to be very good indeed.

Awful, awful, awful. Don’t book for a 12pm lunch or you’ll be out by 12:30pm. Completely rushed service, with our cocktails not coming out until the main. We had to cancel our bottle of wine because there was no time to drink it. I have never had a starter come out within 5 mins of ordering, and then a full roast dinner and beef wellington 5 mins after that. Felt like a carvery, with reheated food. The food was cold and had to be sent back. Excuse was they can’t predict the tables. Manager less than accommodating and was extremely unhelpful. Really disappointed as we booked weeks in advance and ruined a potentially lovely anniversary meal.

A bad start left standing in front of reception for a while before anyone looked up to see a queue had formed. The beef croquette starter was cold and the main took so long to arrive after that we were bored. The food was ok but the wait staff were rude were all evening, almost slamming the plates down each time. Seated next to the very busy wait station felt like we were being crowded and looked over all evening and it seemed to take around 8 staff 15 minutes to make up the table behind us which was hugely distracting. Not a relaxing evening and for the cost of the food here, the overall experience was poor. Would not dine here again.

Thoroughly enjoyed a Christmas meal at Roast with friends on Saturday night. It was beautifully decorated and buzzing with a great atmosphere. The service was a bit patchy because it was so busy but not terrible. Food was good but nothing stood out to me as amazing. A good time was had by all.

My first time at Roast after hearing so many good recommendations about it. Great service from our waiter Joe, who went out of his way for us. Amazing food, wine and most of all atmosphere, we will be back again soon with the whole family.
