Lovely food which we enjoyed. We were a bit squashed in to the room with lots of other diners but it was ok. Service was mostly good until the end when we needed to pay so we went to the bar and sorted the bill ourselves, I think the staff had become distracted with a large party that had just come in.

My first visit here since the new ownership and it was an excellent experience . Our waitress Nieve was warm and friendly and answered our questions with patience and charm. The Cullen Skink was amazing!

Excellent Sunday lunch celebrating 2 family engagements - made even more special by the Prosecco offered by the host. Thank you! The food is delish, the service a delight. You honestly couldn't do better for a local/independent pub (with excellent grub).

Our first visit with friends for dinner. Good menu of interesting items and I could have chosen them all. Dirty duck fries with Hoisin for sharing as a shared starter was excellent. 3 of us went for North Thai curry which was excellent. Fish Pie the other was equally good. We didn’t have Lamb Shank, Cullen Skink (next time) and some others including Sirloin Steak, burger, sausage and mash etc. this is a step up from normal pub food. Plus the wine list was good but not too long and the Tim Taylor Landlord was top notch. Next time I’ll try the side pocket. Beer well kept. The pub has been refurbished and is welcoming warm and a great place for an autumn night out. Also 30 more covers soon after extension work complete. Big tented terrace with wood burner out back too. Lots of parking. We’ll be back.

Under new management. Much more welcoming. A new extension to the restaurant is in progress. Homemade fish pie was excellent. Lovely hot fries! And the sticky toffee pudding was really good.Lovely staff and service. Reasonably priced. Definitely going back.

A fantastic menu with a lovely Scottish slant. It's not often you see Cullen Skink on a menu, particularly as a main course, but it was delicious and more than enough. The restaurant area was busy for a Wednesday lunchtime, but Carly did a fantastic job of serving customers efficiently and with a friendly smile. I would recommend booking rather than turning up on spec. On the drive home I received a call to let me know that my mother had left her scarf, and they would keep it safe until we next visited. A lovely touch.
