Robun is a tribute to Japanese author Kanagaki Robun and his 1872 book Seiyō ryōritsū, which introduced Western barbecue to Japan.

Our modern-day interpretation of Yakiniku specialises in sharing plates of beautiful robata grilled dished large plates fused with elements from across Asia, paired with inspired cocktails and an extensive choice of Japanese whiskeys or sake in the most inviting and sociable of settings.

Alongside our innovative selection of sashimi, salads and small plates, our fresh sushi is served in a variety of creative incarnations including soft-shell crab futomaki roll with kimchi mayo and a tobiko-topped nigiri.

Upstairs in the Kanagaki Suite, we provide an events space and Karaoke bar set to host celebrations and events, from bespoke meetings to the ultimate party.

    This restaurant has the best Japanese kitchen and serves wonderful diversity of food which you can dream of! Quality and is outstanding and fresh, service as well. We will visit Robun soon again! Richard

    Great food. This is one of my favourite restaurants in Bath. The yellow tail is amazing! The service was very slow on this occasion, but they did seem to be understaffed.

    Booked a lunch for a birthday celebration and had such a great time from start to finish. Food was absolutely delicious. Had lots of sharing plates from melt-in-your-mouth sashimi to the best gyozas we've ever had. Everything was spot on, and we were so looked after by the lovely staff. Cocktails great too - highly recommend the Robun Sour!

    We lived in Japan for 3 years so we know Japanese food and Robun was wonderful.

    Whilst the food is pretty good, we dont understand why they bring all the small plates out at once - your food goes cold if you follow their recommendation of 6-8 dishes for two people. Service was poor - with very little communication from the service team, yet they seem very happy to chat to themselves ! Personally, I think the food is overpriced for what it is and the overall experience. We wouldn’t be going back due to the overall experience being below expectations. Service and value we feel is as important as the food.

    We had a great experience at Robyn. It was our first visit, the staff were knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. The food was delicious - we tried the tasting set menu which exceeded expectations. We don’t live locally but we’ll be back next time we visit.
