Food and service were impeccable as always; and the brunch is ridiculously insane. We will be back

My friend and I dined here a few nights ago and were pretty disappointed. She has been there before and I have been to the Seattle location a few times and we both had very favorable experiences. I was personally really looking forward to this dinner because of the diversity of the menu and my last meal with the seattle location. We tried the shrimp and grits which was flavored well and had a spiciness to it. The grits how ever were not cooked well and had lumps while the shrimp was overcooked. We also tried the mussel bruschetta which was very weird. Large (quarter slice) chunks (not tapenade like the menu said) of vinegary vegetables like carrots, cauliflower and red onion and steamed mussels on a tiny amount of aioli smeared on a large piece of bread. The bread is bought from somewhere else so we can’t give credit to RC. It was just … weird and not in a good way like some of their other items I’ve tried (again in the seattle location). For our mains my friend had the grouper and this was the only dish that was really well done and stood out. I tried it and we both agreed it was exactly what the menu promised. I had the seafood stew and it was a complete letdown. I order seafood stew pretty often if I see it on a menu because it’s usually rich and flavorful and the perfect meal for a cold seattle night. This stew was watery, small portioned (could probably fit into a mug without the shellfish) and underwhelming with flavor. The shrimp was also overcooked to death. The soup itself had no depth of flavor like it should if it’s developed properly over time. The shellfish was OK but not only was the shrimp overcooked, one piece had extra shell attached unintentionally. Just an overpriced mess. Our dinner ended up costing 200$ with two cocktails and two glasses of wine. We used the inkind app and saved 50$ but then tip pretty much brought us back to 200$. We both agreed it was wholly disappointing and we left feeling robbed. I’ll give stick to Seattle.

Made a rez, party of 5 for brunch. Food was delicious . Gotta try the beignets and the “brock-a-fella”. Very good bloody Caesar’s and strong coffee. Hubby says not enough grits in the shrimp and grits dish. I had the crab cake Benedict, the right portion for me, heavy but super good. I’m surprised the place wasn’t busier.. I noticed some of the glassware wasn’t super clean but I didn’t say anything. Attentive and pleasant staff. We would go again.

The reviews I read before my first visit were pretty accurate: EXTREMELY noisy. So much so you can't even hear the waitstaff. This is exacerbated by the fact that 3 of the 4 of us at our table wear hearing aids, and even wih the "restaurant" setting to block out background noise, it was horrible. Most of the waitstaff were good; our particular waitress was informative, but inattentive. We tried several times to wave her down, but no response. We finally grabbed a passing waitress to help with a request, which was filled immediately. Thank you. The food was quite good; somewhat pricey. I requested my swordfish medium rare at most, she said "of course", but it was served just on the cusp of way overdone....and dry. It's quite sad to me, an older diner, that our society has lost the desire for ambiance and quiet dining. Probably won't return. even though the meal was ok.

Neither the food nor the service were not what it used to be a few months ago. We used to go there regularly and are familiar with most of the menu dishes. It was a huge disappointment. The run out of one very popular dish at 7.30 pm, we got the food after 50 mins if wait time , the place was not busy. The pasta that we used to love , was full of oil, it used to be home made with freshly backed squash. The squash was cold, the pasta was cheaply manufactured. The sea bass was overcooked and hard.

Rock Creek is great, the food is artistically presented and I even liked the beets ; ) Servers are great, and not just a dedicated server but at least 3 different dining room people attended to us at various times, really felt catered to without being smothered. Highly recommend this place, great view of the water too (at least from our table).

We had many different apps and a salad and we were not impressed with anything at all. Food is way over salted and lacks real flavor.
