Disappointing. Had eaten breakfast there in the morning with a party of 6, eggs rubbery and the coffee was not decaff as ordered. Arrived 7.10pm. Maitre d' asked staff member to take us to table - staff member said 'can't you see I am busy?' Glass of champagne had dirty lip marks. Surly waitress (blond hair and black suit) took order. Starter lovely though waiter came to clear before we were finished. Then waited 45 minutes with no sign of main course. Politely asked about it. Young waitress took blame though not her fault and then we waited and waited. The glass of wine we had ordered for the main course grew warm. We had to ask again. Main course arrived after 1 hour 20 mins. Venison lovely fish very average with a jus that did not go. It was served by the surly waitress. I commented to my partner that I hardly felt like eating now and she cheekily said 'do you want me to take it away then?' We had to ask her to withhold her smart comments. At that stage the manager Khan came over and apologised. He then came back a few minutes later and said he had taken the (dirty) champagne off the bill and the glass of (warm) wine and the mushroom soup (cheapest thing we ordered). Disappointing, at best

The food was lovely but the service was very poor, it felt like we were being rushed out as soon as we arrived even though we had made this reservation a month in advance. We had staff trying to clear our plates multiple times per course, and staff coming over three times while I was still very clearly eating my steak (which I had not had for very long at all I am not a slow eater) asking if I was finished and trying to clear the plates. None of these people asked if everything was okay with our food it all felt very rude and awkward, we left very confused.

I was very disappointed with our experience at Roleys, especially since I have been coming here for years and have always enjoyed it. I hadn’t been in a while and I was really looking forward to our visit, but sadly, it let us down in a big way. Both of us ordered the steak, but it was filled with large chunks of fat and gristle, nearly half of it was inedible. The chips were fine, but the meal as a whole felt more like fast food than a proper steak dish with any finesse. The only saving grace of the evening was dessert (and of course the company), the chocolate brownie was delicious and actually felt like something from a real restaurant. However, the service was another disappointment, as the waitress was quite rude, abrupt and unfriendly. That said, the restaurant itself remains lovely, with a great ambiance, tasteful decor and spotless facilities. Given that we visited for a Valentine’s evening meal, we had expected so much more. Having loved this place for years, it was truly disappointing to have such a letdown of an experience

The terrace restaurant was very noisy - such that it was hard to hear my dining companion, and I was hoarse when I came home! The menu is very good, but the sandwich fillings were so cold that they were tasteless. Service was very good, and the staff are very pleasant.

I have been several times but not for a few years and it was awful . Overpriced reheated child’s portion (18 euro ) soggy inedible gosh n chips with cold over cooked veg . I can honestly say it’s the worst meal I’ve ever had
