   Very good food and excellent service. Our first time at this restaurant and we will go back to try other menu items. We had the short ribs ravoli along with onion soup and a salad (homemade blue cheese dressing). We also enjoyed some mixed drinks wihch were very good. We would definitely recommend trying out this restaurant for a good meal out.

   First time at Root and Branch. Went on New Years Eve and they had a special menu so will definitely go back to see their normal menu. My husband and I had the chef seafood special. It was excellent. I ate the lobster and shrimp and Tom had the 2 large crab claws and shredded crab meat. Our waiter,Lisa, was perfect. Made sure we were happy. So glad we brought in the new year at Root and Branch

   My wife’s chicken was bland and the carbonara on my braised duck was only passable. I actually went there for the Crème Brûlée I had before and was disappointed that they used Blackberries in it that distorted the flavor without making me aware at the time of ordering of the change. The Brie appetizer was good as was the Lobster Bisque soup. They did tell me the menu was limited for New Years Eve, so we’ll call to find out about the Crème Brûlée before going again.

   Sara, the waitress was very nice and attentive. Food options are good, didn’t have the onion soup but the Brussels sprouts were delicious. We even got a complimentary dessert.

   We have eaten here several times over the past 2 years and have always found the service, food and atmosphere above average. Christmas Eve offered a limited menu. We had both the scallops and fried tomatoes to start which were both excellent, the scallops being very large and seared perfectly and the fried tomatoes crispy on the outside and firm and juicy on the inside. We followed with the Seafood Platter for 2 which consisted of lobster tail, crab, shrimp, clams and mussels along with a variety of sauces, butter and lemons. All was good, but lobster stuck to cut shell and was hard to remove and crab was very difficult to remove from shell without proper utensils. Came with 1/2 bottle of white wine which was nice. Crème brûlée finished our dinner and was perfectly prepared and plentiful in size. Old fashion drink was nice with orange slice and cherry. Could have had more festive decor for the holiday dinner.

   We made a reservation and indicated that it was our anniversary. When we arrived, they did not seem to care. We were seated at a very small table and waited a while for service. Ordered a steak medium rare, but it was well done. They don’t seem to care and pretty much ignore you. Will not be going back.

   Upon arrival, I was surprised that the lighting was so bright. As it was a 6:30 pm reservation, I assumed the lights would be set at a dining light level. When I inquired about the lighting, I was told they are always set at that level. We were seated and waited 5 minutes before anyone addressed the table. When the server came over she asked if we were ready to order, she did not ask if we wanted a beverage or cocktail. I asked for a Negroni, and she returned several minutes later to advise that they were missing an ingredient and could not create the cocktail. She offered an Aperol Spriit which aligns with an Italian cocktail but has a different flavor profile. I ordered a vodka rocks with olives and she brought out an Old-fashioned. She said they had a new bartender and she would get it fixed. The Wedge salad we ordered as a starter was fantastic. My wife ordered a BBQ chicken flatbread that came out burned and was sent back to be prepared properly. It took 15 minutes for the entree to be returned. I ordered the Bourbon burger and received a Waygu smashed burger. I did not send it back. The fries were unfortunately cold. I had high hopes for the experience as I had been reading great reviews. Our server was very nice and took $7.00 off the bill. The server offered a dessert which we declined. The manager said hello upon arrival but was not made aware of the poor dining experience.

    We love this restaurant. The food here is excellent as well as the service. Smash burgers, biscuits and gravy, shaved beef sandwich were great. Don't forget to try the brussel sprout and fried green tomatoes appetizers.
