   It seemed like the restaurant, particularly the kitchen, was overwhelmed by the higher volume of customers so there were long periods of waiting, which took away from the usuaul experience and service level.

   Ruth Chris is one of my favorite go to restaurants for steak. There was a pre fixe menu for New Year, which was a disappointment. However, I could work with it. Service was a bit slow. But the restaurant was super crowded due to the holiday. We understood and our server kept us updated. Our salads came out about 30 ,mins after we ordered. Our food arrived and several condiments were missing from one baked potato, my steak did not have the normal burst of flavor and juices I am used to from Ruth Chris. My mom asked for her salmon minus jalapeños. She was told the sauce would have to be on the side as the jalapeños are mixed in the sauce. Her salmon arrived minus the sauce with Jalapeños sliced on her fish. I was actually disappointed with my meal this time. I am going to chalk it up to the holiday rush and hope it was a fluke.

   We had high hopes for our New Years Eve dinner at Ruth’s Chris in Odenton but unfortunately, the experience fell far short of expectations. Despite having a reservation for a bar booth 2+ weeks in advance, we arrived in the lobby packed with people and no organization. After 15 minutes we overheard a group of 4 people complaining to the manager that they have been waiting for an extensive time to be seated, the manager tells her she can be seated at a bar booth immediately and they took it - which was our reservation! When we were finally seated 20 minutes past our reservation time, they attempted to place us in a back room that was so stuffy and far from the vibe in the lively bar area —a detail we had specified when making the reservation. When pointing this out to the hostess she said a reservation does not guarantee our table and if we wanted a bar booth we would need to wait for someone to leave. The hostess completely dismissed our concerns of our table being given away right in front of us. We sit and were handed a “New Years Eve Menu” so I asked if we could have a normal menu and the hostess stated they aren’t offering the normal menu on NYE - even though I called to verify a few weeks prior and the reservation did not state this was a special event. The special menu items came with an unexpected 30% markup compared to what we had anticipated. While we understand that event premium dining often comes at a cost, the pricing here felt excessive and not quite justified by the service or ambiance.

   Even though we had reservations we had to wait about 20 minutes beyond our time. We were seated in the back room, which was away from the main dining room which took away from the experience of Ruth Chris. Service was great though

   Felt like we waited forever for drinks, refills and courses. Steak was cooked to incorrect temp but the manager replaced immediately. RC definitely made us feel valued as a customer.

   This was a repeat dining experience at Ruth Chris in Odenton MD My prior experiences were all good even scheduled a private family affair this year. This was the first time that my request was not honored which resulted in a bad dining experience. We were honoring a house guest for the holidays which made the requested need for a table for four. During a previous dining experience for a table of four, I told the manager that their tables are too small for all the glasses plus plates and bread baskets. I requested a booth or a table that would seat four in a more comfortable situation. The person who seated us said that there were no other options and we had to take this table. Rather than argue with him, I took that table and sure enough plates were at the edge of the table and very cluttered. To make matters worst, a booth that could accommodate four was open the entire time we were dining and than another booth was given to a party of two. No manager or anyone else from the staff came over to discuss my problems. Next time, I will think twice before scheduling a reservation.

   Reservation at 7:00 PM on a BUSY Friday night! Front desk personnel works quickly and smoothly to get us seated within 5 minutes of reservation time. Mohammed was an attentive server. Exciting strawberry margaritas! Best two filets we have ever had. Roasted garlic mashed potatoes and creamed spinach were both excellent. The cheesecake dessert was a perfect ending to a delicious anniversary dinner. Both dinners were from the pris fixe menu, and we felt this was a good value; plenty to satisfy a couple of 80 year old diners! A wonderful evening

    High quality, high prices. Over-priced in fact. The variety of food we sampled ranged from very good to excellent, but based on their pricing structure they have a somewhat over-inflated opinion of themselves. The prices might be proportional for somewhere like New York, but for Odenton Maryland they're not practical. Beyond that, the restaurant was quietly stylish, and the staff was friendly and ever-present.
