   The service was slow, with long waits for both drinks and food. When the main course arrived, the steak was mostly fat and not the quality I expected. Additionally, it was cooked medium-rare instead of medium, as requested. Overall, the experience did not meet my expectations. This was my first and last visit at S+L

   Great lunch served on hot hot plates which was great to keep the food hot. Kyle, our server, was very friendly, attentive and quick.

   Luisa was our server and an amazing human being. She was very polite, courteous and gave us some great recommendations. We were the last people, they never rushed us and ensured a great experience. The food tasted amazing, and the dessert Almost famous cake was actually the best i have ever had. The steelhead was banger, and so were the oysters. Maybe i am certainly missing out on few details, but highly recommended.

   We're not strangers to S&L Bar & Restaurant in South Surrey, BC. In fact we couldn't count the number of times we've dined here. It's always a great experience. Yesterday (6th AUG) we were greeted by 'Hailey' who was also our server throughout. Always the consummate professional, she never missed a beat. Welcoming hospitality plus and read all our needs before we knew we needed them. Now here's the BEST part. Head Chef Kieshan prepared our meal to absolute perfection! We started with the Spiced Waffle Yam Fries .... the best! Also a side of the fried mac & cheese sticks. Great! For our entre we both had the Harvest Chicken. These were done to perfection. Beautifully prepared and the presentation was professionally done. No wonder Hailey was so pleased and smiling when she came to our table. Chef Kieshan really out did himself. Here is the he pièce de résistance of this meal ... "The Almost Famous Warm Butter Cake" You have to try this. It's sooooo good! A fist for us but this is our new favorite. We make no apologies for being so wordy here ... this was an outstanding dining experience. W & D White Rock, BC Booth #21

   Very dissapointing experience at this location being served food that wasn't even what was ordered but they pretended it was. Salty and dry chicken and soggy mushrooms. They need a new chef asap

   Experience for a first time visit was great, no complaints. Service was what attentive, personable and quick, however when it came to pricing on the menu that’s when I thought I must be in some high end 5 star exclusive downtown vancouver. Realizing of course, I was not, but rather in South Surrey I had to calm my panic. Luckily the affordable food items were readily avail on the Happy Hour Menu. Everything else was just a bit insane, if I’m being honest. Example, $19 for Master Chicken which gave me two subpar small pieces of fried chicken and some delish creamed corn with bacon and a side of mash potato. Small portions expected for a Happy Hour no questions there. Looking at the main menu of the same item, by at one more piece of chicken it jumps from 19 to 31 which seems in all fairness a bit of absurd. My reasoning behind this is simple: One drumstick which is quite meaty and not bad, but then you get to your second piece of chicken - the thigh and it’s mainly bone, barely any meat whatsoever. I took the liberty of mentioning this to my server, her remark was, “that’s cut of the chicken they have.” If I were chef, I wouldn’t have cooked, plated and served a boney chicken thigh with barely any meat to be enjoyed. Not a chance. Had I ordered the $31 version and had had the same issue, one percent would’ve sent it back to the kitchen. Now with that said, everything else was good, but definitely not great. The $2 a prawn cocktail dip should honestly have one price attached to it vs paying 2$ a prawn. The lobster roll was tiny but good. In the end, it’s doubtful I’ll be back as the money spent didn’t really justify the means. I understand inflation, minimum wage going up, price of beef, chicken etc all up significantly. I get it. But wouldn’t it be better to have a full house and serve awesome food at reasonable prices, rather than a half empty establishment and “just good” food? Food for thought. Cheers

    The seats on the booth we sat in were dirty with crumbs and so were the ones across from us as well and the restaurant was not busy. Food was good though.
