   We have been to SS Dion several times recently and have enjoyed it every time. Favorite choices are the mushroom campanelle, the chitarra, the baked seafood casserole, and the haddock and vinegar peppers. And we have never been disappointed by their specialty cocktails. This is our go-to choice in Bristol.

   We sat at the bar, very cozy, fire burning in the fireplace. Low light, which I prefer. I ordered a scotch and water on the rocks. One shot cocktail. Very weak. Dining partner said same about his gin and tonic. Calamari for appetizer. I thought it was very good, tender and nice flavors. Dining partner said it was the best he’d had in a while. A glass of house wine was $15.00. For dinner we both had the plate that consisted of a trio of items: small piece of cod, 2 baked stuffed shrimp and 3 scallops. All presented together in a small hot cast iron skillet. Plenty of food. Looked great, however, it was bland, food sitting in way too much butter. Nothing had flavor. I’m not sure the liquid was all butter either. Lacked a nice buttery flavor. Side was the honey roasted brussel sprouts. Very good. Again, my friend enjoyed his entree more than I did. Overall… the ambiance in the bar is very nice. Bartender was attentive. Drinks were lousy, wine expensive. Food ok.

   SS Dion offers a cozy and inviting ambiance. The restaurant was calm and not overly busy during our visit, and the staff graciously accommodated our early arrival. Its blend of affordability and a high-end vibe makes it a great spot for a casual yet refined dining experience. The customer service was impeccable. Our waitress, Megan, was attentive and thoughtful, checking in regularly, providing excellent recommendations, and ensuring we had everything we needed. She truly elevated the experience and deserves recognition for her outstanding service. As for the food, it was a mixed experience. The sirloin steak was unfortunately rubbery and didn’t sit well, but the accompanying mushrooms & sauce were delightful. The pasta was simple but satisfying (3/5), and the fries were crispy and flavorful (4/5). The highlight of the meal was the chicken wings—easily some of the best we’ve had. Tender, fall-off-the-bone meat packed with flavor made them a standout (5/5). Even the complimentary bread, paired with soft butter and a spicy sauce, was a pleasant surprise. Overall, while the meal had its ups and downs, the exceptional service and cozy atmosphere made it a memorable visit.

   Another incredible experience at SS Dion!!! The food, the drinks, the beautiful surroundings make for such a wonderful evening! But what always makes it the best visit ever is our waitress, Jona!  Every time!  She’s a complete joy! She’s so happy, so friendly, so attentive, so completely and genuinely caring!  THANK YOU Jona - for all YOU do for so many!

    We have never had a bad meal. My husband says I am adventurous because I like to try something different at each visit. I have never been disappointed. Food is made with quality ingredients and the flavors are amazing. I am a customer not a friend nor family. Staff are very attentive and friendly.
