A friendly, family-run café in the St Albans countryside, serving breakfast, light lunches & homemade cakes. A beautiful setting with a picturesque courtyard and neighbouring shops Osprey London & Spirit of Hertfordshire. All food is freshly made, with most ingredients sourced from local businesses. Walk-ins, families & dogs are welcome, with free dog treats and fresh water bowls available, since our four paw friends are just as important as our customers! With our all-day breakfast & lunch menu, Chef Special Burgers served on weekends, and live music evenings with our evening menu and curated wine list, there is something for every occasion.

I have 10 years of hospitality experience and was recently awarded a bachelor's degree in business management. After a successful pop-up café, winning the 'Diner's Choice Award 2023' in just three months and being nominated for the category 'Best Cafe' for England's Business Award, I have decided to rebrand & continue doing what I love.

Another lovely scrummy lunch. We had the butternut squash and sweet potato soup which was divine really good size and yummy bread. Friend had the shakshuka which was equally enjoyable. My friends birthday and they kindly provided a complimentary glass of Prosecco. Oh and the margaritas are to die for. Attentive staff as always. Thank you again.

Very nice menu, reasonably priced and very good quality. Nice friendly service. This cafe has changed hands many times. Hopefully these folk stay a bit longer.

A very special evening. The atmosphere was just right - cosy and friendly with a great live musician. Service was perfect - we were not rushed but had time to enjoy our evening. Food was great - really generous portions too and such good value. Will definitely come again!

I haven’t been here since the new owners took over so thought I would give it a try The courtyard setting is lovely a real sun trap a delightful space to sit and relax The menu is well thought out I had brunch which consisted of French Toast, Scrambled Eggs and Smoked Salmon, sandwiches, Toasted Tea Cakes plus delicious beverages and a great choice of Cocktails I had the most delicious Bloody Mary My only gripe was the incredibly slow serve they were busy and I expected to wait a while but not quite so long I will definitely return and give them a second chance the food was delicious
