This was a very disappointing experience. The open kitchen was chaotic and stressful to observe and to hear. It was the most stressful restaurant experience I ever had. My husband’s back was in front of the toilet door and I was CNN looking directly at the frenetic kitchen. Final straw…. We were presented with the wrong bill. Luckily I checked it before paying ( and 10% service charge already on bill!! Be aware) The food was good.

Absolutely the best Beef Wellington I’ve ever had ! Lovely service, lovely atmosphere and fantastic food. Only tiny negative is that it was a little on the chilly side but it was a wet Thursday night so probably not as busy as usual

We went as a family for late Sunday lunch. It was exceptional, we had variety of starters but the beef wellington stole the show! Amazing

We booked this on the off chance on a Saturday night and were certainly not disappointed. We received a warm welcome, and given time to review both drinks and food menus without any pressure. Our waiter was engaging, chatty but not overly. The food was outstanding, my Beef Cheek starter was as good as anything I’ve had, deep, rich, melt in the mouth and beautiful. The beef Wellington was also excellent and much more substantial that I was expecting. We were made to feel welcome and important without it being fussy. Not a single complaint, 10/10.

We enjoyed a very tasty pre theatre set menu of squid, seafood linguine & chocolate fondant- excellent quality & value - accompanied with a lovely French sauvignon blanc - will definitely be back!

Overall disappointing experience as we expected much better from this venue. A few issues with the food: mushroom tart was a sliced raw mushroom. Fillet steak was tough with a cold sauce and mashed potatoes were lumpy and plain - no garlic and thyme as shown on menu. Service was good and the team did remove a beer and the potatoes from the bill. Other food was good particularly the duck and scallops. Lastly this restaurant applied an automatic 10% service charge on the bill for 4 diners which seems to be a growing annoying trend these days. Bottom line, based on our experience would I go back or recommend Saga the answer is a a disappointing no unfortunately - particularly as we are local and literally live around the corner.
