It was not indicated at the time I made reservations that it was a pre fixed buffet at $95.00/ per person. Not including alcoholic beverages. We were told upon arrival. Had I known, I would not have booked. I have been here many times for dinner and regular brunch. It’s a great spot. We were very disappointed in the Easter Brunch. They were carving over cooked roast beef at the ham station. The attendant who was carving denied that it wasn’t ham, it almost comical. The kitchen clearly mistook a roast beef for a ham, glazed it and roasted it like it was a ham. I am not a fan of any buffet, but $95 for breakfast, no mimosa included, is excessive, even for Easter.

We have been to this restaurant several times. We have gone there while staying at Sanctuary, or just because. We made reservations for Easter, and at first glance, we thought we could take advantage of the brunch menu, and not just the buffet. When we arrived, we were told that they were only offering the buffet that morning, and we made the decision to dine anyway. To begin, the price was told to us, however the 20% gratuity that was automatically put on the bill was unacceptable. In the past when we have dined here, the food, service, and such was certainly acceptable and worth 20%. Not Sunday. All the servers were responsible for was to take our plates, fill our water, and drinks if necessary. Not 20% service. The buffet had some stand-out options, that were unique and creative. However, the eggs, sausage, and typical food items were lackluster to say the least. We were highly disappointed considering our one drink, buffet, AND gratuity was $300. I will repeat, we love this restaurant. However, will not return for any special event they have in the future without major scrutiny. Please prove me wrong moving forward

We’ve been to this restaurant before and always had a great experience. Dinner tonight was a miss. The outdoor heaters weren’t working and I was freezing. I'm not sure why we weren’t sat on the upper patio area where some appeared to work and it was sunny. Our food timing was completely off, missing soup, drinks came out late, entrees took forever. Management was very nice and came out to apologize, said they would make an adjustment to make up for it- and yet the bill came with nothing done at all to make up for the horrible experience. I know things happen, it just didn’t feel like it should have been a $200 night. Bummed **UPDATE** Jason was kind enough to reach out to me directly. He has provided a fair resolution and I know we'll be back to give it another shot. We've had some wonderful brunch experiences in the past. I have a feeling our next visit will be much better (crossing my fingers). =) Thank you Jason.

Horrible meal, clams overcooked and extremely salty. Oyster preparation lacked flavor.

Our service was impacted due to being understaffed. They comped our oysters, due to our drinks taking quite a bit. Sides were great, whole fish was wonderful except one side was under cooked/clear. Totally would come again due to food being delightful and ambience was great. Just the staff being all over the place and food being delayed some. Hopefully, they will lock that in.

Probably our last visit to Salt Wood. Makes me sad, we enjoyed spending special occasions and celebrations here over the last couple of years. This time, service was nonexistent. Water was never refilled, my iced tea never arrived, no one checked with us after we got our food. Dinner took 2 1/2 hours with long waits between courses. Not sure if our server had too many tables or what, but we rarely saw him. Appetizers were served with our main courses, dishes were brought to our table that belonged at a different table. The food was just ok, potatoes were sadly under seasoned, New York steak was over cooked, clam chowder was good. Dessert menu is extremely limited-3 items and gelato/sorbet selection.

As always our dinner was amazing...glad we were able to share it with our friends. I highly recommend "happy hour sunset sessions " a nice way to enjoy small bites and drinks before your meal.

This is a great place off the beaten path in the Monterey area. Its seaside decor is classic yet comfortable. It has a fun, energetic vibe with a great outdoor area with plenty of heaters and fire pits to take the chill off from the ocean breeze. You can order something as simple as a burger or something as grand as a seafood dinner for two. Plus, the wait staff was friendly and efficient.
