   The restaurant was packed but we were seated at our reservation time. The food and service were very good. The noice was average for a packed restaurant. We all enjoyed our meal. There wasn't much ambience to speak of, lots of tables and people, little if any Christmas decor. Thank you to all those who worked to provide a great meal on Christmas so the rest of us could relax and not cook.

   Thank you, Saltgrass, for being open on Christmas! We were able to bring two older gentleman, from a nursing facility, to enjoy a Christmas Day meal. I know that is a sacrifice for all those working on Christmas and it’s very much appreciated!

   Definitely a fun Texas vibe. Music and decor supported the theme. I was surprised how much care and detail went into even the side salad....like an individualized thousand island dressing made in house and also croutons made in house that weren't hard as rocks. The pecan bread pudding was FULL of pecans and came in generous sized baby iron skillets fresh from the oven.

   Note: We visited on Christmas Eve, and the restaurant WAS busy, though not overwhelmingly so. After being seated and greeted, we were presented with a small loaf of (very) dry, rough-textured bread. There was no butter on the platter, so after a couple of small bites, we left the bread alone, as the consistency and taste was akin to chewing on dry cardboard. Salads came next and they were fine, although I got the wrong dressing. But it was OK. We ordered Blacked redfish and a 12 oz Ribeye at 6:30 pm. at 7:45 pm, our server told us that our food would be up in 4 minutes. Twenty minutes later our food arrived. Our sincere thanks to the search party. Because of their Herculean efforts, it only took a bit over an hour to prepare and locate our food. Now to the entrees. My steak was room-temp, no more than that. It was thin and undercooked (I asked for medium-plus, I got medium-rare). I let that go, and the taste was decent. But my wife's blackened redfish was just...bad. She didn't care for it at all. And her baked sweet potato was cold. We eventually managed to flag down our server, and sent back the redfish, asking for a salmon dish as a substitute. The salmon came is good time and was hot and tasty. Score one win for that. We wound up leaving after 9 pm, having spent 2 1/2 hours of interminable waits, little effective communication, and mediocre food. I lay the responsibility for this debacle at the feet of the local manager. This was simply a disorganized mess. During or after all the delays and ineptitude we endured, you might think that someone would have offered us an app to give us something to nibble on as we pined away for our missing entrees, or a dessert and the end of the whole ordeal...or simply given us an apology for the mess. But we never saw -- or even spotted from across the room -- anyone who looked like a manager. This was ugly. Chalk it up a Holiday night ruined.

   Reserved a table area but I ended up sitting at the bar to eat and have few drinks. The food was delicious and the drinks are as well!

   It was my friends first time being there and they really enjoyed the food and the service. They would definitely come back and I most assuredly will.
