   Very small menu. Very few seafood dishes to choose from. I had the crab stuffed flounder special, and my wife had THE scallops. There was only one scallop item to choose from. I liked my meal. My wife so, so. The special cocktails were passable, not great. I opted for an old- fashioned for my second drink. If you're a foodie and are looking for risotto and Chilean seabass, go somewhere else.

   Delicious food. We had calamari, hush puppies, salads with grilled chicken. Everything was delicious. Our server, Bryan, was outstanding. Highly recommend.

   Saltine is a great restaurant! The food is amazing, the service impressive, and the ambiance is perfect. I had the lobster tail and it was unbelievable. We ordered the Chocolate Orb, and it’s a bit of performance art. Great fun. My grandmother was beside herself. Expensive, but you get what you pay for. Totally worth it.

   Halibut was good but over-salted. You can get a crabcake like that from a grocery store. Not sure why they don’t feature VA wines…

   The sea bass ceviche was super fishy and the service terrible. We went for a working dinner so didn’t order drinks. After that, we didn’t see our server for 30min. Will not go back.

   I made a reservation here due to the reviews of other diners. I was not bowled over at all. The service was sketchy at best and the food was good but not worth the money in my opinion. The ambiance was very cool but thats not important to me. I rather have very good food and a server who didn’t seem harried. The wine was good. About a 5 or 6 out of ten for me.

    Saltine in Norfolk was far from what we had hoped for. While the restaurant projects an air of sophistication, the food does not measure up. I ordered the fried whole Snapper, which lacked any freshness or flavor. It was bland and soggy, certainly not what you’d expect from a seafood dish. My wife’s Blackened Rockfish was so heavily salted it was nearly impossible to enjoy. My daughter’s fillet mignon was overdone and lacking the tenderness you'd expect for the price. The entire meal, from the tasteless She-crab soup to the stale bread, was a letdown. Given the steep prices, we anticipated something far better. On a positive note, the service was attentive, and the staff were friendly. However, no amount of good service can make up for food that simply misses the mark. If you’re looking for quality dining in Norfolk, I suggest looking elsewhere. Saltine tries to impress, but the execution leaves much to be desired.
