Sushi master Ryuichi Nakano casts a wide net at SanKai, drawing longtime fans and welcoming newcomers to his intimate new sushi restaurant in the heart of downtown Edmonds. Enjoy our cozy dining room, omakase sushi bar, or heated outside dining in our domes.

Please note we are a small restaurant and children (babies) need to me accounted for in your reservation if you need seating/highchair. Stroller space is limited and may not always be accommodated.

    SanKai is an absolute gem! My brothers and I dined there last night, and it was hands down one of the best sushi experiences we’ve ever had. The food was phenomenal—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. If you’re planning to visit, I highly recommend trying the omakase. It’s hands down the best in the area, offering an unbeatable price for the outstanding quality and variety. Every course was a work of art, and the chef’s attention to detail truly shines through. The service was equally impressive—attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. SanKai is a must-visit for sushi lovers. I can’t wait to go back!

    I have been frequenting Nakano San’s sushi restaurants for over 20 years. The quality, service, ambiance of SanKai is so wonderful. We love sitting in the bubbles. What a unique dining experience. We go about once a month and can’t stay away!!

    I love Sankai. It is always wonderful to find a Japanese restaurant that produces authentic Japanese foods with the artistry you would encounter in Japan. The rice is perfect, the knife work is fantastic, together the result is beautiful nigiri. The attention to detail is incredible. Thoroughly enjoyed dinner and was so happy to share it with Sankai newbies who will absolutely go back for more!
