   Took mum for dinner and theatre for Xmas present. Very enjoyable and the somalier was excellent

   Nice ambience, lots of space between the tables. Excellent attentive service. The Beef Wellington and artichoke risotto were excellent. Less good was the confit duck which was very small indeed, not crisp on the outside and dry inside. The sides were good, in particular the potato mash.My biggest gripe was the wine. The markups are egregious. For example a bottle of Lynch Bages 2009 is on the wine list at £1300 and can be bought from Berry Brothers at £110 plus VAT. Meanwhile the affordable single glasses are almost without exception poor wines with little of interest and zero expression of their terroir. If you go, choose the Beef Wellington and excellent tarte Tatin and don't bother with the wine.

   Always a treat and as expected the food and the service was exceptional. The staff were attentive and we were not rushed. My only critique is the wine list, there needs to be more affordable options for people that don’t necessarily appreciate or can afford fine wine but like good food. I picked a £90 bottle and was told I could not be served it as the system does not recognise it?! I was then recommended a similar wine, but this was £180 a bottle!! It’s not unreasonable to expect sub £100 bottles of wine to choose from and it can deter people from going for that special occasion and having a nice wine with their rather fantastic beef wellington!!

   Handsome restaurant in fresh art deco style. Nice curved banquette seating for 2 or 4 - great for talk. Great service. Food more traditional English than gourmet. A La carte fair value. Excellent wine list with something at all prices.

   Food was overall amazing except the sides which were either too salty (mushroom) or tasteless (broccoli). Service was great although the guy who brought the bill over took forever to figure out how the card machine works.

   We celebrated my husband’s 60th service was great as well as the food. We all tried different dishes and everyone loves them deserts were to die for. No rushing us to get out. Out booking was at 630 and we left about 10 allowing us all to enjoy each others company and conversation. Wasn’t loud so we could hear each other and the atmosphere was vibrant. Would recommend the savoy grill for that special occasion. It will be a great one my husband and the rest of us to remember. Thank you

   Concise menu featuring some classic dishes, Arnold Bennett souffle and Beef Wellington are must trys. Grilled meats are cooked to perfection. Flambe crepes cooked at the table is a piece of theatre. Exceptional service without being over bearing. A wonderful experience for a special occasion.
