   We booked a reservation for Valentine's dinner after a cruise. We sat right away but had to wait for our food for an hour. They were short-handed on staff. The food was great, but having to wait that long for our food was disappointing.

   This was one of my favorite places to dine in the Ward Village area. Unfortunately, the place has changed hands, and the focus now appears to be on DoorDash service as opposed to their on-site customers. Arrived on time, and we were seated promptly but ignored by the waitress for 15 min. When she finally graced us with her presence, she was not helpful. We first ordered drinks and an appetizer. It took 30 minutes to get our appetizer delivered. I complained to the manager, and he blamed it on being short one line cook. However, we saw order after order going out the door with DoorDash drivers while customers sat with EMPTY tables. It is a real shame, this used to be a wonderful place to enjoy a nice meal. I am afraid that has been lost. This was my LAST visit to a once great restaurant.

   They took off the calentado but made all the effort to try and make it happen. They potatoes were cold , and not enough vinegar. Probably won’t return.

   THE SERVICE AND FOOD WAS HORRIBLE!!! We have been coming to Scratch Kitchen many times over the years for brunch and dinner, and we’ve loved it! But tonight (and the previous time) has solidified my conjecture that this place has hit ROCK BOTTOM! Service: We had to ask for our water to be refilled each time. Our server never came to check on us. Another server has to help us. There was an error on the check regarding the price of the steak, which charged us $3.00 more. When I questioned it, the server stated, “You’re probably right.” He returned and said, “Yes, you’re right, but for future reference, the steak is $12.00, not $9.00. I’ll honor the $9.00 price this time.” How was I supposed to know the steak was $12.00 and not $9.00 when the menu says $9.00? Food: The crispy Brussels sprouts were beyond crispy—they were burnt. The medium steak I ordered came out cremated, rugged, and dry.

   Understaffed. Took a while to take order because waitress was also the receptionist. Then, food for one of our party sat on counter for at least 15 minutes. The rest of party got food, and was finished by the time other person got food. Went up to counter where food was, and asked another waitress about party's meal sitting there, and wanted it delivered to table, but she said she had to check. She wouldn't let me take it. Took another 10 minutes for food to be delivered to table. Also, lot of items were out, which was disappointing.

    We have had many amazing meals at this place .... I was once again pleased that the service as well as the food was prepared and delivered so wonderfully . It also puzzles me that more people were not at the restaurant ...... the food the wait staff and the food 5 stars . I myself and my partner have made it a point to be there more often . We were also encouraged to try coming in for Brunch . I want all my friends to know and try Scratch Kitchen .
