   What an amazing please. Fine dining on the doorstep. The Maitre de is sensational and the staff attentive and friendly. The food is incredible and the wine list, top class. The best dining experience in Sunderland by a mile.

   Dear Sandra, Thank you for taking time to give your review and we would like to apologize that the experience didn't match your expectations. We are sorry you felt the service was slow, but as your party ordered several well done steaks the cooking time is unfortunately long. The food arrived to the whole party at the same time, when the well done steaks were ready to be served. We don't freeze our homemade desserts, they are stored in the fridge and heated before serving, so I cannot imagine them being served as frozen. Best wishes, Anne Ebdy Restaurant manager

   Poor food, poor service. I reserve a table for dinner with my friend and no one tell me there is a time limit for 2 hours only. We had been asked for drinks or food in EVERY TEN minutes since we sat down, very annoying and disturbing. The staff kept chasing us for everything and a lady told us we have to go now as they have another booking for my table and we only had 2 hours for dinner. Very disappointed and it cracked my night. We ordered a steak with medium rear, but it came as WELL DONE ! It called steak co ! We ordered lobster but it was not FRESH ! It called seafood co!

   Dear Fay, Thank you for taking time to post your review and we are very sorry the experience didn't meet your expectations. However, I wonder if your expectations weren't quite realistic. On a busy Saturday evening in a popular restaurant you held the table for 2,5 hours. You arrived late and it took you 40mins after that to order your drinks. Our staff tried to politely prompt you to order, but was sent away. Most of the restaurants reserve nowadays 1,5 hours for a table of two for dining. Restaurants are businesses aiming to make profit by the sales of food and drink and cannot reserve a table for all evening just for socialising. We try to give our customers more time to enjoy the dinner in peace and even on the busy evenings allocate 2 hours per table. Anne Ebdy Restaurant Manager

   Our first experience of this Resteraunt, the staff friendly, informative ,great service. Food top notch. The only thing ( which isn’t the Resteraunts fault) was a baby shouting all the time, next time we will go much later,problem solved. It was a shame we weren’t able to give the great staff a tip as the machine would not accept the tip,that’s so not fair ,those lasses were great,and I didn’t have cash . That needs to be remedied. From 2 very satisfied customers 😁👍🥂

   First visit, following a recommendation. Lunchtime with friends. Took advantage of 2 courses for £16. Starter of black pudding/ mushroom scotch egg delicious. Crab roll an unusual main course, with no accompaniment so too much bread for my liking, but lovely best crab meat. Others’ steak looked and tasted very good. Desert and coffees perfect. Service was super. Couldn’t have been more welcoming. Overall an excellent experience. We’ll be back!

   Wednesday evening. Really quiet. Staff was really helpful. Husband had oysters he said were amazing. Both had ribeye steaks. I had prawns on top husband had half lobster. I would say prawns are better choice. Onion rings were best I’ve ever tasted. Broccoli and beans were amazing too. Free bottle of wine on Wednesday too. Overall 10/10.

    Lunch time menu, 3 courses excellent value, steak great flavour, cannot fault any part of this meal,I was told the meat is locally sourced, which is good to know,from the chef to the front of house, service was spot on. Very friendly, will return.
