   We had been before for drinks only and it had such a nice vibe, next time we were on the Shore we wanted to go again. We had a lovely experience, the atmosphere was cosy and casual, the staff were very friendly, it was more sharing plates which we like, we had the steak frites/whipped ricotta fried olive garnish & homemade tortillas/coconut prawns and a delicious bottle of red wine. Would def recommend it was really tasty. We called in again over the weekend for drinks & nibbles with family & watched the Rugby and everyone liked it. Next time we are in Leith we’ll def book. Thanks Mara staff for the hospitality hope the place goes from strength to strength

   Service was excellent, 50% off food deal was amazing value and drinks were nice. Food was overall good, although we did think the chicken wings were quite dry and could’ve done with maybe a sauce or glaze, but everything else we ordered was lovely.

   This was our first visit to Mara. All tables were busy - good atmosphere. Staff were friendly and attentive. Showed knowledge, helping with our wine choice. Made good beer suggestions for others, offered samples to taste. Really enjoyed the variety of dishes ordered which were excellent. All made for a fun Saturday night - we’ll definitely be back!

   Local bar/resturant to where we live and love going. Took full advantage off the Valentine’s Day meal, was fantastic and the wine pairing was great too, Fabalous stuff, gorgoeus venue and amazing food…and drink.

   Service was rather slow and glasses/plates left on table throughout different courses. Food was okay and steak was really tough but cooked medium. Wine pairing was good and pricing was great for that. The lady explaining the wines was fab!

   Best cooked steak I’ve ever had. Small, varied menu. Delicious drinks, really good offerings of wine, beer and cocktails. Skin contact wine, and GF beer on tap! They were playing The Cure radio, perfect soundtrack. Great date spot on The Shore.

   I can't speak highly enough about our experience at Mara. The food and drinks were all delicious, and service was top-notch. Felt like we were dining with friends, rather than visitors to Leith. Highly recommend checking out Mara!

   Ever since it has opened we have been huge fans of Mara and have had no issue. However, after booking to go on a Tuesday to benefit from the 50% off the food menu we were told after we had asked for the bill that this offer does not apply for December. When we told the member of staff that the offer was still showing on your website she advised the staff member in charge of their social media must not have updated it but would not honour the offer. Although we received our 15% off discount for being local residents we left feeling quite disappointed and dismissed. We also later checked their website and found that the 50% food menu in Tuesday was still showing.

   Lovely place, in a nice setting. Service was very good. Food was delicious, had the Savoury and Smokey bowls, both were very nice and filling. Would definitely recommend.
