   Came here on Valentine’s Day, which so happens to be my Fiance’s birthday. We were a little nervous to see if that would affect the service, but we’re very surprised to see that service ran smoothly. We had time before our dinner reservations so we decided to check out their jazz bar. It was a busy little corner so we only stayed for a drink. However, there are other nooks on the first floor where you can sit. Next, we went to our dinner. We got our drinks and food very quickly, the server was amazing and the look of the restaurant was so picturesque. We will be back without a doubt.

   An incredible experience. The Sky Room is amazing. Our wait staff was knowledgeable as well as active listeners and positive attitudes. Our dinner was the phenomenal. Scallops for me and trout for my husband.

   There were 4 of us and we had a great time. We had heard that it was expensive, so we knew that going in. We spared no expense and got a very good bottle of wine, the dinners we wanted, and each of got our own dessert. The bill was a bit over $500, but the wine was a big part of that. The service by David was fantastic. We asked about the wine and he was very knowledgable. The food was exquisite. I had the trout, and I'll have trouble ordering anything else when I return. SO good. My wife ordered the chicken and said it was good. She said she'd put less salt in it, but that it was very nice. The quail and the scallops were spectacular. The other couple raved about those dishes. Desserts were amazing. I had bananas foster, and the guy came and made it right near the table, as is custom. That was the best dessert I've ever had. Such a unique and tasty dish! We'd go back again, though we need to make it a once-in-a-while treat with the budget.

   Wonderful! The decor is fabulous. You feel like you are out dining in the 1940s. Luxurious and classic. The food is excellent, the service perfect. We had an amazing evening. It’s well priced for the quality of the food and the experience.

   Even with high expectations, we were not disappointed. In addition to all that you expect a nice restaurant to have (great food, service, ambiance, etc.), what struck me was (1) how nicely dressed people were and (2) how much enjoyment diners were having. I've been in the LA area for over 11 years now and it's rare to see men wearing suits, but I saw it here. And people were really into the experience--looks of genuine surprise and delight was a plate was presented. This wasn't just a IG moment, it was simply experiencing the moment. It was a joy to see. I would like to call out the service. In my opinion, great service can make a mediocre meal good, so great service with great food is a sublime. So many times when food arrives, there's jockeying to deliver the right plate to the right person. Here, no questions needed to be asked, people who weren't present when the order was taken knew who had what. The server was actually quite knowledgeable about the food preparation. I wouldn't be surprised if she personally sampled every item on the menu before hitting the floor. Such a wonderful Saturday night!

   The restaurant is elegant looking, but the menu choices are very limited and two of the dishes listed on their website were no longer offered. The crab cake dish was one very small crab cake (a little bigger than a silver dollar) for between $20 and $30, I don’t recall the actual price. The service was friendly and efficient, and our meal was paced well. Our experience was fine, but not as special as we expected it to be, which may be due in part to us being big fans of the prior life of the restaurant.

   My experience at this venue was nothing short of extraordinary! From the moment I walked in, I was embraced by a warm and inviting ambiance that set the perfect tone for the evening. The attention to detail in the decor created a stunning atmosphere that enhanced the overall experience. The service was impeccable; the staff was attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure that every need was met.    Should’ve been a red flag once we arrived at the host stand and they could not find the OpenTable reservation. We had to show our confirmation on the app. After asking if we were celebrating something special, we stated we were and were replaced in the middle of the dining room near the kitchen door. Plenty of open seating along the windows and in the booths, but yet the only option we were given was a table with no view. The appetizer portions were small, overpriced, and not representative of the good food in other places of Long Beach.

    It’s nice to revisit a classic landmark, and both the Skyroom and Rooftop provide great atmospheres for an enjoyable evening. From the valet service to the front lobby & to the Skyroom the hospitality was warm and welcoming, with friendly and helpful staff at every step. Valet service is reasonable at $10. The food at the Skyroom was delicious, but the menu could use some improvement in terms of variety. Additionally, charging guests $5 for two simple bread rolls feels unnecessary and a bit petty. Overall glad to have the Skyroon restaurant & rooftop bar back in business!
