While you may not realize it, you have chosen to dine in a Texas Tech University classroom! Skyviews Restaurant is a full-service, largely self-supporting restaurant designed and operated to provide a hospitality laboratory experience for up to 50 students each week. While you are enjoying an excellent meal in the lovely surroundings, students are developing skills and applying knowledge. Every day is a learning experience for our students, and we welcome comments and suggestions as we strive to improve your dining experience. We greatly appreciate your patronage.

Please note that reservations are limited due to the nature of our restaurant. Dinner reservations fill up quickly and will close 24 hours prior to dinner. If OpenTable does not allow a reservation or blocks out a timeslot, that signifies we are full for that time and/or day.

The wait staff did not greet us and did not inform us about the buffet (that it's a buffet, it's self-serve, any options, if there is anything that we needed, etc.). I also observed other customers wondering about the buffet in a similar position to ours. Also, the entrees kept being empty so our party was not able to enjoy the entrees that we wanted.

I left a 5 star because I am a big fan and great supporter of SkyViews restaurant. I love TTU businesses in general. The food was great but the young waitress in training was extremely rude to the guests and not at all pleasant. She had one job to do, check that everyone had water, and she seemed displeased he has to fill or refill the water. She even asked one person to hold their glad so she can fill it with the water (!) Maybe she should change major. This was a staff appreciation day for my unit... and I spent $200 with a $40 tip approximately out of my OWN salary, I hope the tip goes to the business and not to the waitress. Overall, I love the manager (Gary) he is the best and happy to remedy all the mistakes students make. And I love the TTU representatives that impacted this business and made it what it is today. The buffer's food was very diverse and better than ever!!

Love the experience of Skyview's...however, not this time. Had a reservation after the dinner "rush" and only a few tables were occupied on arrival. Waited almost 10 minutes before the server came to the table. She did not introduce herself but took our starter order. She brought the starter and took our order for the soup/salad course, entre, and dessert. Starter was lukewarm at best. Before we had finished the starter, she brought everything else we ordered-all at once. In previous visits over the past several years, it has been a relaxing meal, served by course, with time in between each. Who wants all of their food all at once? The four other tables I could see did not receive all of their food at once. It left us having to maneuver plates around constantly and by the time we finally got to the entre, it was less than stellar. I don't know anyone who prefers cold vegetables with a main course. Not too happy about paying what I did for a meal where the expectations are higher, but few were met. I realize there is a student element with regard to wait staff, etc., and as a TTU alum, with decades of customer service experience, I am in full support of the "teaching/leaning" side of Skyview's. However, the service, food and overall experience this time would yield a failing grade in Hospitality 101.

Food was good. Server not attentive. Everyone at our table had to have bills corrected multiple times.

The braised short ribs were cold. The asparagus was cold also. The hollandaise sauce was bland. My wife has a better recipe. The waiter, Mitch was trying to do a good job but they had given him new tables. The manager had to buss our table, which meant that they didn’t have sufficient staff for the reservations. As a result, the service was slow. The soup and desert were delicious and the pretzel was good.
