   Our meals were fantastic as expected at this wonderful restaurant. We brought friends that are newcomers to Slanted Door for their first experience. The table service was very good. Staff very friendly and helpful. The reservation seating was very backed up though and seating took a long time. This was on Valentine’s Day so it shouldn’t have surprised me that it took so long to be seated. I also don’t agree with the 20% surcharge that I’m seeing at restaurants including Slanted Door. I always tip over 20% and at times have rewarded excellent service at 30-50%. But I did find the table service very good, as opposed to some other establishments that provide inferior service because the automatic surcharge removes the incentive to provide good service. I’ll repeat that the table service at Slanted Door was very good.

   Great dinner. Especially pleased that the claypot chicken is once again being made with chicken thighs and not the tough Heritage chicken.

   I remember the first time I went to the Slanted door in the city 20 years ago when it was in the Mission. The food was as good the first time I tried it. The wine selection could be more interesting like it was back then, having said that, the Pinot Noir I ordered was good. Always love the papaya salad and the Shaking Beef. Also had the bok choy in oyster sauce which was good with the beef but nothing unique. Lovely service, our attendant was sweet and attentive. The food and ambience Never disappoints. Our thoughtful complimentary glasses of bubbly to celebrate my friend's birthday won me over to return soon. I felt treated very well.

   The service was quick and courteous, the food was delicious. The yellowtail and pork belly were fantastic and definitely placed in the, "must order again" category. Overall the ambience was nice if not just a little too noisy for a quiet, romantic conversation.

   We celebrated my wife’s birthday at the Slanted Door. Food and service were top notch! If you like beef, be sure to get the skirt steak entree. If you like seafood, be sure to get the caramelized shrimp. Both are outstanding!

    Never disappoints! Always love coming to the Slanted Door, we get creative cocktails, fantastic appetizers, and perfectly cooked entrees. This is one of the restaurants where we are working through the menu to ensure we try everything. I could not decide between 2 red wines with my steak on this past visit, so one of the hosts brought me splashes of two in the menu so I could choose. So considerate! Our regular server was also friendly and attentive. Something I think might be nice would be bud bases or candles on the tables in the evenings, as we often go for date night. The minimalist decor is otherwise pleasant.
