We enjoyed a night at Slay a year ago and it was really nice. Service, food, portions and ambience all were good. Tonight was marginal at best. Not sure if the owners changed but food quality was mediocre and presentation just thrown together. Wine pours were barely 4oz and the bill was expensive. I rarely write bad reviews as anyone can have an off night but as I looked around at other tables, it looked the same. We won’t return. Price point too high for what you get.

All of the food we had was delicious! The ambiance and decor was great! We had a party of 6 and sat on the corner near the kitchen. Would’ve liked to sit somewhere else, but it was also nice to have a little private corner to be able to talk. The service was amazing, everyone was nice and attentive and helpful. Parking was tough since it’s Christmas weekend, but worth it! Would definitely come back.

Enjoyed the beet salad and Funghi/Fennel Pizza which were delish. The staff and location were also great. One of the waiters walked us a few doors down to a Speakeasy and we safely bar hopped later in the vicinity. Made for a very enjoyable night.

Chef Slay was very gracious, and spent time getting to know our table...Very real guy with the food to match...Some real old school hospitailty and a very personal touch...Only wish it were closer to home...Loved the Spinach pasta and Ossobuco....And the Pizza, great crust

We were celebrating a birthday, so I just expected more, but I guess restaurants don’t give you more and excitement when they ask if you are celebrating anything and you tell them you are celebrating a birthday. The restaurant does not have their own outdoor patio. There are just tables and chairs they put out on the side walk. We had garlic bread, calamari, ceasar salad with salmon, fettuccine with shrimp, squash blossoms, and lasagna, all the food we ordered could have used a little salt. The bottomless mimosas is just some frozen fruit comes out to you in a glass and then the waitress pours champagne over it. I like a very attentive and helpful waitress but this waitress came coming over to our table so much so that it felt like we could hardly have a conversation because she was interrupting us. I think this place is not for celebrating any occasions but is perfect if you are walking or cruising the neighborhood and would like to pop in for a bite to eat. The holiday music coming from the various businesses was a plus but I think that was because everyone was getting ready for the holiday fireworks that were to take place later in the night.

Had been to Slay 2 times before and found the food to not be a good as it had been. The cioppino broth was very salty but had waited to sit so chose to not send back. Staff was great but for the price would not go back.

We love coming here every two or three weeks. Our favorites are the Chop Salad and the Marketplace Pizza. Always a wonderful time. When the weather is good, eating outside is best.
