   We booked the Slug and Lettuce for a very busy day, Billy Joel in Cardiff. Even so we were told the wait for food would be around 45 minutes, we accepted this as it was so busy. Unfortunately after an hours wait our food arrived and one dish had mayonnaise when we specifically asked not to have mayo. This could have been an allergy as they didn’t ask. The other dish was steak and the steak was so tough it was almost inedible. They were not willing to recook the incorrect dish and gave us a refund for that one dish. That meant that having waited that long we ended up having to go to McDonalds. Pretty rubbish experience to be honest and we would not go back there again, ever!

   Arrived to be told that we didn’t have a reservation. When we showed the booking confirmation we were initially told that the booking was for the other slug and lettuce but then when I found the confirmation that said cardiff central we were told that they don’t use open table for bookings and that the booking wasn’t valid. We felt that the venue had overbooked due to an event being on. If slug and lettuce don’t use open table why is this an option to book? We booked this months in advance so we weren’t very happy to be told that they were fully booked and the booking wasn’t valid.

   Dissapointing; first 2 choices not available, reason given Brexit!! Went with 3rd choice. Took ages to be served; food very basic
