   Service was great from the time we walked in the door, and the food was great! Everything was seasoned and very tasty . We ordered the couples platter with crab, garlic noodles, and blackened prawns. Also ordered a side of mac and yams. We loved the old school R and B music on the playlist. We are definitely going back or next Oakland trip to try some other dishes

   The tables were a bit small. We order 4 plates and it was hard to put everything on the table.

   The food was off the chart good with the best fried prawns and fish. I highly recommend and will be returning very soon. I reserved a table but dined on a Sat afternoon.

   The experience was nice. It was 25 of us dressed like cowboys and cowgirls. The Ox tails over rice were fabulous. The fride corn was also delicious. Majority (23)were 100 💯 satisfied with our meals. Try Smellys Creole Catering.

   The food was amazing! I had been speaking so highly of the food to my family that had never been before so I was a lil anxious about how it would turn out but Smelly did his thing perfectly. Out of all the times I’ve eaten here This was actually my first time dining in and I must say it made a huge difference. Everyone’s food came out piping hot and plated beautifully we were all super impressed. The blackened Salmon over garlic noodles was amazing! Good job Chef the food and service was top tier!

   This is my very honest review. I came to this restaurant to experience the wonderful looking food.It was my birthday on March 8th 2025.As I arrived to the restaurant I noticed there was a very small line outside. I proceeded to find parking and make my way over. When I got to the door there was no longer a line.Apparently everybody was there to experience the hype of smelly's. I arrived a hour early for my reservation for 2 at 1:30pm but I was still accommodated and got seating very quickly. The host was very sweet and nice. The host was shocked that there was a flock of people as soon as the restaurant opened at 1:00.There was probably 20- 24 people total in about 5 to 7 groups. As soon as we sat down we waited for a brief moment before a server came to pour us some water. Our main server came and he was such a gentleman and very informative. I intentionally placed my order quickly for a appetizer, our entrees, and drinks as soon as our waiter came to take our orders to avoid any wait time.I used the ladies restroom while I was there and I appreciate that the bathroom was clean. The following was some of the concerns that I have read from prior reviews that I do agree with based on my recent visit : 1.We sat down at 1:30 and we did not get our entrees until 3:00, but we did get our appetizer which was just bread in a timely manner. 2.I love the music but it was a little bit too loud to where I had to repeat myself several times to my husband because the music was too loud for him to hear me from across the table. Now the drinks. The bartender was very friendly and she even came to check on us to see if we were enjoying ourselves and the drinks. Unfortunately there was only one bartender on a busy Saturday afternoon. We probably waited about 30 minutes to get our drinks. I think that the chef should take these reviews into consideration and possibly work on prep time knowing that his business is really popular right now. And work on finding a bigger location ASAP.

   I had the Oxtails they were delish staff great and the wait gave us time to talk and catch up I had a great time will be going back again even though this was my 4th time going. LOL

   First off it took a whole hour for our appetizers to get to us . Then when the chicken arrived it tasted as if they cooked something else in the same grease because it did not taste like chicken.. then another hour later food comes out and it’s not even hot .. the garlic noodles are way too sweet . Just an all around bad experience and I been wanting to try this for years . Very disappointed and won’t never be back .. if u really want good food id suggest chef kb in Vallejo.

    Our experience at Smelly’ was on point. The food was as advertised plentiful, favorable, and delicious. The atmosphere was Town approved. The only knock is the wait time for food but honestly it was that bad because what we ordered was worth the wait! Smelly’ is a must experience if you are in Oakland!
