Welcome to Smoking Lobster Cowes, an Asian-Fusion restaurant serving fresh, exciting & luscious Asian-Fusion cuisine for both adults and kids. Voted best Isle of Wight restaurant two years in a row.

Family owned by the Giancovich's, with recipes influenced by their extensive travels around Asia, and by their childhood of growing up hunting, gathering, and spear-fishing for seafood.

Our local fisherman, Justin, catches our lobsters & line caught sea bass fresh for our use, so our dishes include the freshest possible ingredients from your local shores.

The bar menu reflects the elegant dishes from the kitchen, with precise, bespoke cocktails prepared using fresh ingredients.

We offer formal dining areas, private dining areas and casual dining areas. If you just fancy a drink, let us know.

We look forward to looking after you.
Note: Dogs are accepted upon request as limited spaces available. We also offer a Special Roast Menu every Sunday!

As a regular diner at The Smoking Lobster Cowes, the food and service was great, as always. Although, we so miss the Lobster Brioche that dissappeared from the menu a month or two ago, please, please bring back to the menu.

We have eaten here last year on holiday and loved it, so booked a table again for this year. The portions have become ridiculously small and, although super tasty, we won’t be returning again. We all (3 adults, 3 teenagers) left feeling hungry and came home and filled up on snacks. A terrible shame as it was a firm favourite for our Isle of Wight holiday.

We have been before and the food is great. However the service is poor. Once we had ordered we had enormous difficulty attacting the attention of any member of staff so that we could order more food and drink. The restaurany was half full and the staff were gathered together behind the bar chatting. Over the course of our meal every time we wanted to order more it was the same. I don't think our designated waitress returned once. At one point I tried to ask the member of staff clearing some plates if we could order more but she just walked away. Such a pity when the food is good but maybe this is why the restaurant was not full on a bank holiday weekend.

Another fabulous lunch at this restaurant. Forth time and every bit as good as the first. Booked last minute as usual. Made to feel very welcome, good suggestions, great service, amazing food. What more does one want ❤️. Will be back for more.

It was really lovely! My desert did go awry but I hadn’t noticed until the waitress came to apologise and offered it for free

We had a mixed experience. We had to wait about a half hour for our table, but the two bartenders could not have been nicer and jollier and we were given our fancy cocktails for free. So the wait actually enhanced the experience even before we knew the cocktails were comped. We had a variety of small plates that were all basically fine: tuna tataki, eel maki, lobster maki, Japanese milk bread and a pork tenderloin. We would have wanted a bit more delicacy from the makis, a bit more flavorful lobster sauce with the bread, and a more subtle and less sweet sauce on the pork. The main of New Zealand steak was a confusing story: the quality of the meat was excellent and the degree of doneness was perfect. BUT, was the flame much too high? The steak was imbued with a strong, acrid bitterness. Such a waste! Of the four nicer restaurants in Cowes, this is definitely the best.
