   Service was poor, waited over 2 hours for food to be served and when finally served my lamb chops were cold. Ordered drinks for the table and ended up going to the bar to request our drinks and ended up waiting an additional 45mins standing up at the bar. Server was trying to make my drink and you could tell she was not experienced, looking back at her phone constantly for the ingredients. It was not a memorable experience.

   My experience at Smooth was nice. The artwork on the walls, lighting, and decor lends to the overall vibe. The couch seats look nice, but sit very low and the cushions are pretty worn for a place that’s newly open. The tables are too high for the height of the couches and makes eating awkward. The food and drinks were good. There was an issue with my cousin’s order, and I didn’t agree with the way the co-owner chose to inform us he was going to have a talk with our server. That information is not for your customers to know. All your customer needs to know is that it will be corrected, no more. With that said, our server was a lovely young lady name Terrie, and though it took time to get our bill, she did her best due to them being short staffed. One last note, it is a comfortable location, but not big enough for the DJ to play the music so loud that you cannot have a conversation at table’s length. The music was okay, but lacked transitional flow, which messes with the vibe. I think Smooth is worth checking out at least once. I would recommend it if you’re visiting the area. I’m always rooting for black owned businesses and I wish them much success.

   We went at night but they had an all white party earlier in that day. I reserved for my wife to have a surprise birthday here since it was a place she was wanting to go. They asked for special instructions on the reservation. All I asked for was for them to have a note saying happy birthday to her and they didn’t even do that. We got there at 8:00 pm and didn’t even get served water until 9:30 pm and food until 10:00pm. I Overheard the owner talking to a customer when the customer asked for a discount or something to accommodate for the service and the owner denied any accommodations or discount. we also had bad service food was cold and still had to pay full price and took out gratuity. Nothing was done for us for the lack of their service also water was spilt on the table by the server and was never cleaned up so we sat there with a puddle of water on the table. We had to get up and ask for napkins to clean it up. The ambience was very nice, but the all-around service was horrible. Had other customers come in and leave because they were not getting served. They also ran out of food do to the all white party they had earlier that day so everyone had to order the same dish and whenever someone complained about service, they kept blaming it on the all white party same with the food options.  for our first time being there and also it it being my wife’s birthday. It was not great at all. I was a embarrassed for her and her guest.

   I booked a first date for my girlfriend and I. We had reservations for 9:45. As soon as we walked in we were walked past several times. Until my gf stopped someone to get there attention: so we waited a couple more mins only to be told tbe chef was sick they would only be serving egg rolls and chicken and drinks. And that everything would be free because of the inconvenience. We contemplated for a few mins then we decided to give it a try anyway but we should have just left from the beginning: we sat down. The band that was playing left. Then we waited 10-15 for drink orders placed the orders only for her to come back to tell us we can’t order food cause the kitchen was closed. This all could have been said at the door. So we left after I drunk my one drink for 20$ and even then the server was so busy running around she almost let us walk out without paying. As an establishment that’s trying to uphold a certain title. I feel like you should have more than one cook,a better choice of a menu when this does happen and maybe more staff all the way around. We tried it we didn’t like it but everyone’s expectations and experiences are different!

   The atmosphere felt cozy and inviting. The decor included beautiful artwork on the walls. Food was finger licking good, and I had lamb chops for the first time ever, very delicious. Rasta pasta was very flavorful which was crazy to me because I always long for my meals to be more seasoned when I go out to eat. I can't wait to visit Smooth again!

   Enjoyed the ambiance, decor and music. The DJ was fantastic! The food was good but warm not hot, but would have been great if it was hot when we got it. The service was what was lacking and it wasn’t crowded yet we got there at 8 pm. We had our server changed three times during our time there which made it difficult to order, get our food and check in a timely manner. Will give Smooth Bar another shot to see if they can redeem themselves in service as it is a nice lounge.

   First time visiting the Lounge….the worst customer service ever (waitresses walked by our table several times and never said anything ..no drink or food order/just rude!!! Will not visit this lounge ever again!!! So we left and went to Fumee (Charlotte) and the service/food & drinks were Amazing!’
