Originally established in 1974, Smuggler's Inn has been serving Alberta prime rib to several generations. Always a popular place for Calgarians to gather and celebrate, we are the preferred dining choice for birthdays, anniversaries, milestones or just meeting friends and family. Our prime rib is the main feature of our diverse menu, available all day, every day any way you like it. From a 9oz. prime rib, all the way up to a 18oz cut, our succulent prime rib is sure to please any appetite. Of course there is a creative selection of steaks, chicken and seafood to satisfy everyone. It would be a great idea if you saved room for one of our delicious desserts...even if you plan on sharing.

We had a reservation, were seated, and three times they asked us if we had a reservation! After the 3rd time was annoying . The menu choices were not to my liking. Used to go often when the had a salad bar , and the area with the fire place was open. Don’t think I will be returning

Smugglers has been around for a long time. This means it goes through good times and it goes through bad times. Sadly, we're in the latter for 2024/5. I've never before been served raw pork, cold food and burnt prime rib. But, since the latest management can't be bothered to staff appropriately... you're on your own. I would've crawled over broken glass for a water, and the single drink that we were offered (excepting the managers attempt to pacify), well, apparently liquids are slim pickings these days. Don't blame the staff. Our poor waiter was the only one in the entire restaurant and the manager - nowhere to be seen. Only showed when there was a meltdown at any of the tables in the room. So... mystery solved. Why is Smugglers in a down phase? It'll be a number of years before we bother coming back.

I had not been to smugglers in over 10 years. I had fond memories and was expecting the same, but I was hugely disappointed in the food the portions of food and the service. I won’t be going back for at least another 10 years.

We had the Sunday Roast 3 course special and it was amazing. The salad was fresh with delicious dressing and the prime rib with mashed potatoes, gravy, Yorkshire pudding and roasted vegetables was delectable and to finish it off, we had the sticky toffee pudding which was amazing

Well to say the least. Smugglers used to be the SPOT and known for their Prime Rib. Now the waitress said the kitchen was running behind because they’re extremely busy. Before booking my reservation at Smugglers I read past reviews on the service and food. And the verdict ?… the reviews were true. Though our food came out decently to the table. The food was all under cooked. NEVER ask for your PRIME RIB MEDIUM RARE! It will come out RARE!!. Even out lobster tail came out rubbery undercooked like wtf. You pay for quality food and the cooks rush out your meal. The service surprisingly the waitress was nice and did her job well. Lastly my significant others order came with baked potato and horseradish which she never asked for upon ordering. Better off with the KEG. Unfortunately Smugglers needs to hire chefs who can cook under pressure. Definitely 💯 can cook a better Prime rib meal at home. Save your money people!. The ambience is old style English which I thought they renovated apparently they hadn’t. Also I reserved a table by the fireplace and never received that request either.

It used to be great. haven’t been for years but decided to go for lunch, it was good and we decided to come back for dinner. The dinner menu is not even close to the same quality as I remember. The Cajun prime rib spice has changed completely, it’s some kind of salty rosemary seasoning now - disappointing. Ordered mushrooms, which had way too much salt, even for the salt lover at our table. All the really great things on the old menu like the Halibut Tarragon Mediterranean Salmon, and beef ribs - gone. No more salad bar, no more Portuguese bean soup, instead clam chowder is 12.00 per bowl. I will give them credit for the beef dip though, that was good, but it’s only on the lunch menu. The atmosphere has also lost its charm. Gone are the romantic, candlelit castle vibes with fireplaces casting a warm glow. Instead, the dining room is harshly lit by bright overhead lights at full intensity, creating more of a Denny’s-like feel. We really wanted to love it, but sadly, we left disappointed.

We will never go back here. The worst service ever! It took an hour and a half to get our food for it to be disgusting, cold, dry and burnt tasting. Tables are so close to each other, it’s loud and not like how smugglers use to be. I would not recommend going here.
