   Chose Sofia's due to the significant amount of positive reviews, but was really disappointed in the food. The calamari was just bad -- tough and chewy, warm not hot. Every pasta we got was bland. Not terrible but just bland. No salt or pepper on the table to add and make it right. The bread and oil came 1-2 minutes after our entrees, which was strange timing. The herbs in the oil were dense and packed in tight at the bottom of the dipping dish, making it difficult to get herbs without soaking your bread in the oil. The bread and salad were good.

   We had the pre-ordered family style dinner for 4 and it was more than enough food. We got to try so much food, everything was delicious. The service was next level, the celebration was great. I would definitely recommend and will go again soon.

   Was hoping for a far less touristy experience. The laminated menus were a tacky prelude for the subpar food. The food was so bland and tasteless. The risotto was lava hot and the broccoli was lukewarm. Both tasted like cardboard. A culinary sucker-punch.

   02/2025: dad / daughter (age 13) date. Food was good, staff were attentive, prices were about as expected $$$, atmosphere was casual but vibe was really cool plus had live music.

   Very friendly helpful staff. Table for two was really really close to another table making it rather awkward. The restaurant was freezing, with most customers dining in their jackets. Food was hot and fresh.

    I had such a wonderful evening at Sofia's with my boyfriend. As an Italian, I have high expectations for Italian food, and Sofia's did not disappoint. The atmosphere was vibrant and romantic, perfect for our date night. We started with the arancini, which were perfectly crispy on the outside and full of flavor inside. For our mains, I had the chef's freshly made ravioli, and my boyfriend chose the parmigiana di melanzane. Both dishes were absolutely delicious, with authentic flavors that reminded me of home. The staff were attentive and friendly, always checking in to make sure we were happy. Our server even recommended a lovely Italian wine that paired beautifully with our meal. It was a fantastic experience, and I would definitely recommend Sofia's to anyone looking for real Italian food in New York. We’ll be back soon!
