   Went for “Happy Hour” and didn’t get it. Paid $40 for 1 drink and 2 sliders. Drink was nasty sliders were okay. Very inattentive bartender. Overall wouldn’t go back at least not for happy hour.

   I recently reserved for 8ppl. I tried to modify my reservation to add 1 more guest. I was not able to do so on OpenTable. I was instructed to call the restaurant. I then called the restaurant to modify the reservation. The person I spoke to told me to update the extra person on OpenTable and I expressed to them that I was not able to and it suggested I call the restaurant. The staff member then put me on hold to ask how to go about the situation. The person returned to the phone and said that the restaurant is fully booked at my time so the 9th person might not have a seat. She then said that they would just have to squeeze at the table if a chair wasn't available. My group arrived at the restaurant and was seated with a couch/ bench in one side and chairs on the other side. One of the tables were very unstable/ unleveled and kept rocking and the couch kept coming apart. We expressed that to our server Mya. She said it wasn't anything she could do. We asked to be moved to all chairs she said we couldn't because other seats needed to be for others. When she brought the food out, it was literally sliding. By the way no one else was ever seated at the open tables. Also, there were extra seats down the hall next to where we were seated. A few of us ordered soulè punch, we were told that it was a wait because there weren't any glasses available. We finished our food and the punch still hadn't come. We requested it be removed from the bill. I let the server know I wanted to place a to-go order. She said okay look at the menu and that she would be back to take the order. She returned and then told me that the kitchen was closing in 15 minutes so she couldn't take the order. The ladies restroom did not have any toilet paper, the hand soap was watered down. Service: could've been a lot better. Food: didn't care for the asparagus or Mac n chz. Ambiance: festive with Christmas Tree, good music selection, noise level was moderate.

   We absolutely enjoyed ourselves!! The food and music were amazing! We will definitely be back!

   Wait time for food was over a hour. Food was ok but drinks were very good. Will not be a returning customer though.

   Upon arrival, me and my girlfriend witnessed most tables with plates of food from previous guests, we were sat a table next to a table with plates. The server at the time was nice but the cleanliness of the establishment turned us off and we decided to leave.

   The food and service was great. We had a bit of a wait before someone checked on us to pay the bill and it was not a busy night. Otherwise, we would go back to experience the food and service again.

   Lamb chops were cooked perfectly. The macaroni, yams, green beans and potatoes, and greens were all seasoned just right. The drinks were strong, pretty, and delicious. If I lived in Chicago, I'd definitely come back. The ambiance was spot on. The music wasn't too high energy - was definitely giving lounge vibes.

   We had a staff lunch and we ordered appetizers six main dishes and desserts. We all really enjoyed our lunch.

   I was visiting Chicago & went here with my fiancé. The host was nice and we were seated quickly. Our server was on break when we got there, but another server brought us water. Our server came back but didn’t introduce himself & we didn’t see him much after he brought us food. Our proteins (fried chicken & catfish) were very fresh & seasoned well. However, the sides were all cold & tasted a bit old. The Mac & cheese was also a bit bland. The greens were okay & the yams were very good. It was decent but not something I feel that I need to eat again.

    This is the restaurant that was needed. My Book Club and I, spoke about this place all night. Great service, great ambiance and best of all, the food is just like mom would make plus more. This is a must visit, so place it on your list of restaurants to try, and go soon. SheTimeBookClub really enjoyed celebrating Christmas dinnner here, plans are to return with our mates.
