   We went to South Bar last night for dinner based on the positive reviews. We did not have a good experience. The food was terrible. I don’t mean just so-so. I literally came home and made another dinner, because we so disliked the food at the restaurant. We shared the deviled eggs to start. They had a rubbery consistency and an almost sour taste. We then shared a whole fried chicken with biscuits (which finally appeared much later than everything else), sweet potato casserole, and collard greens. The sweet potatoes and the chicken batter both had something in them that was overwhelming and not pleasing (nutmeg? I’m not sure). The biscuits were gummy. I am very surprised about the positive food reviews, because we ordered things that should have been in their sweet spot, but were not good at all. Although the outside area with the tree is attractive, it is also very dirty (lots of stuff falls from the tree onto the tables/chairs and is just left there) and buggy, so dress accordingly. We had bugs crawling all over us, our food, and in our drinks. It’s FL and outside, so obviously there will be some bugs, but this became pretty nightmarish. Inside might be better, but all the back windows/doors were completely open to the outside, so not sure if it is actually better in there or not. Our server was very nice, although seemed to disappear at times despite it not being very busy. We were excited to try this place, but we will not be back.

   Great craft cocktails. Love the pork egg rolls. We had blacked chicken pasta and short ribs and grits! Very delicious.

   The atmosphere was very nice and cozy. They have a beautiful patio area. The only thing i would say there old fashion on the happy tastes like straight grapefruit its not really an old fashion. But other than that, the service was incredible. The food was delicious. I am very happy we went. I would defintely go again.

   The experience was very fun and the food and value for the per head brunch definitely a good value. I would say that the only thing is that the music is very loud for me personally.

   For starters there is no other option but to do the “bottomless brunch” on weekends between 10:30 am and 3pm Saturday and Sunday. We booked intending to be able to choose a la carte lunch or brunch which was not allowed… we should have left immediately after being told we had to pay the $54 dollar PER PERSON bottomless brunch with NO drinks included. After being served maybe 6 “shareable” dishes… half of which came out cold and all of which were deceivingly small (for instance the “sliders” were actually ONE slider”), we caught on to the tactic the restaurant was using but our last dish being the chicken waffles which was one small breaded tenderloin with 2 quarters of a waffle beneath and on top we requested a box for but the the waiter became argumentative saying they don’t provide boxed for “buffet” style meals … when asked if we had any other option but the buffet to which he replied we had the option to leave (the manager actually mentioned the same thing) we explained the food was all brought out cold and was mediocre/inedible he insisted he could not give a small box. We asked for the manager and he kept arguing.. finally the manager came and provided a box as well as removing one of the buffet meals from the check. Although grateful that the manager provided the discount… the waiter did come back to swipe our cards and did not say a word to us while swiping our cards. No apology or trying to make the situation better. We will never be back. Both good and services need WORK… entertainment and atmosphere were this places saving grace. Hope they figure I out a different type of way to steal peoples money.. people will catch on quick to this money trap. It was already pretty empty. Yuck, icky experience. Stay away!

   Started off a little annoyed. Was there for early dinner on a Sunday and asked for a Bloody Mary. I was told they only serve Bloody Mary’s at brunch.. I have NEVER been told they don’t serve this drink in the afternoon or evening. If you’re out of the mix… just say that but to say they don’t SERVE IT??? I found that annoying. Other than that the atmosphere, food and service were good! I would recommend this place!!

   Wonderful experience first time there. The service is great. I meant the container outside. It was really good. The outside is so pretty and just comfortable and not too noisy. The food was good. I enjoyed just thought everything can’t complain about anything that drinks were really ample, and the prices were more than reasonable

   Sat outside under the big tree and it was very nice, Ordered drinks, one came out in a few minutes the other three came out in 10 after the waitress noticed me looking for her. we ordered apps and dinner. One app came out almost immediately the other three took 15 more minutes. Dinner arrived, three meals came out, and one more was not delivered until I called the waitress over. Not very attentive.

    Ordered Spoonbread and when asked for description was told sweet and savory to find out it was just a corn pudding. Fried chicken was extremely salty. It was delicious as it was very moist but the salt just killed it. Service was fair. For a restaurant that had maybe 5 tables, could have been a little more attentive. Will be back as we really enjoy, just will not order the Fried Chicken.
