   We had great meal and service. We brought 2 from Raleigh and both have a gluten and dairy issue. We had informed the chef before we arrived and then told our waitress. The care was outstanding for their needs. All said it was a wonderful dining evening due to outstanding care and service

   Great service, outstanding food with creativity and impeccable attention to detail. All in an inspiring setting. What a gem in the heart of downtown Southport! Prices are high, but for a special occasion, nothing compares. If you get the chance, make sure you try the sweet potato butter!

   We wanted to impress our friends who were visiting from NJ so we made reservations at Southern. We were a party of 6 and were able to get reservations for a Friday evening. We were very graciously greeted at the door. As soon as we were seated our waiter came right over to ask for our drink orders and explained the menus to us. We ordered our meals which consisted of pork chops, scallops, duck, and 3 orders of the special which was tile fish. Our dinners came out in a timely fashion and all were absolutely delicious. Would highly recommend Southern for a beautiful dining experience.

   I've been to Southern several times now and have never been disappointed. The food is fresh and delicious, and the service is friendly and efficient. Southern has a welcoming feeling where you can enjoy your meal without feeling rushed. BTW...the warm cookie in a skillet with vanilla ice cream last night was beyond words (and it's big enough for four people to share)!

   Wonderful small, cozy restaurant with impeccable service and outrageously delicious food! (Huz had Pork Chop with smashed sweet potatoes and purple eyed peas and I had the roasted beet salad w/steak.)
