   Spuntino always does such a lovely brunch and what really makes the experience so enjoyable is the incredible service provided by everyone in the restaurant from servers, to chefs, to management.

   Service was inconsistent, senior staff overconfidence and bad habits evident. Less experienced trying harder. Food was great, drinks under premium package just ok

   After a lovely round of golf at DGC we decided to go for a business lunch in the Italian restaurant, to complete our day. Unfortunately we arrived a little too early (11:30am) but the manager was very helpful and recommended we have a coffee in the Duchess while waiting for the restaurant to open. We took his advice and enjoyed the view with a nice coffee, the waiting staff were fully aware that we were waiting for our table, this ensured that when our table was ready we were informed by the waiter so we could go ahead to the restaurant and that the coffees will be added to the bill at the end (this professional communication is a rarity that I was really impressed with) my husband and I then enjoyed sharing the lovely flavors of sea bass carpaccio & deep fried seafood (shrimp, calamari, fish) to start, I had a crisp Prosecco to accompany my meal in the holiday atmosphere of the restaurant, all waiting staff were attentive and happy to answer my questions about the food, that they clearly had been briefed on before the lunch shift. The main was a scrumptious lamb ragout which reminded of comfort food back home (Wales) and my husband had the sea bass, beautifully cooked, the only comment was he would of liked a fish knife to take the skin off. We were so full from the complimentary soft bread, oil & balsamic vinegar we couldn’t eat dessert. The business lunch starts at 12:30, it’s a casual Italian restaurant in the heart of the pearls four seasons hotel. 95QAR for two courses. A must to try if you want to taste a different menu.    I was very excited to go and experience this relatively new hotel and restaurant. I was expecting a really good brunch but was left extremely disappointed. Surprisingly it is a buffet brunch which I wasn’t expecting. The raw seafood station was good, tasty lobster, prawns and crab ok. The salad and bread stations were lacking with a horrendous undercooked potato/octopus salad. Choice of mains included tasteless beef (overcooked) and lamb/chicken skewers and very basic pasta. The only saving grace was the seabass and the osso buco (very good and authentic Italian) and risotto which were quite tasty. They did come round with a couple of pizzas but again tasteless and bland. Overall the food offerings were very limited and not up to the standard we had hoped for. The DJ thought she was in a club and the live singer only knew 4 songs. Thank god for Abi our waitress she was the saving grace of the day. I would also comment other staff members were very friendly. The drinks selection was ok. White wine was fair but the red was probably the worst I have ever been served in a restaurant. I have a wine box at home for cooking with and it was on a par with that after it’s been open for a few weeks. Sorry but there was nothing to encourage us to return.

   Good service but the food was trying too hard and overpriced. Strange burrata salad with pickled veggies and too much sauce with the fish. Trying too hard to be fancy, but the service was good.
