   If you’ve read anything about Stage at all before this, nothing I can say will come as a surprise. Stage comes across as a total labour of love for the guys running the show. They’re doing what drives them and what they clearly thoroughly enjoy. In the kitchen and front of house. The Taco Boys are on a mission and I felt extremely lucky to be able to go along for the ride with them. There is a total enthusiasm about their food and drinks which is genuinely infectious. The result is a fine dining experience at a non-exorbitant cost: all the enjoyment of creatively imagined, painstakingly sourced and prepared food, introduced to the table with relaxed, fun, and informative style and panache. I have no idea where it would be possible to experience the same levels of culinary ingenuity and sheer enjoyment at such good value for money. So it’s not over the top to use the word unique to describe what just happened. That wasn’t simply an excellent meal, we were actually blown away by the entire show.

   This was a lovely evening. The food and flavours were outstanding. It was so refreshing to eat somewhere where the enthusiasm and energy that goes into the prep and pure zest for life shines through into the food. This was an outstandingly fine dining experience but not fiddle-faddle food. Expect authentic, innovative food that will awaken your taste-buds and leave you with lingering, happy memories. As a middle aged person it was lovely for once to be the oldest in the bijoux and informal dining room in a young and vibrant crowd. My advice -go!

   Small concept restaurant with fantastic small plates tasting menu. Enjoyed about 7 gloriously cooked and presented combinations of incredible flavour combinations. Whilst a tasting menu we all left full - even the heartiest appetite! Loved the balance of vegetable, meat and fish courses with fresh ingredients and some pickled raw and cooked elements - just wow!

   In a league of its own in Exeter and the southwest. A sensational dining experience. Staff were exceptional and informative in explaining the dishes and flavours on offer. Everything exceeded our high expectations.

   This place just oozes with passion for food from a relatively young bunch of professionals! As always it was a culinary adventure, with spot on wine recommendations to boot. Stage is always top of my list of go to restaurants for any special occasion or treat.

    Stage is a great venue for lunch or dinner. The ambience Is a bit noisy perhaps but this is made up for by superlative, fine dining food, served courteously and promptly,
