   We loved the vegetarian options. The staff were so kind to us that we felt like regulars. This is a place we will go back to again.

   Always a yummy restaurant when you want to treat yourself or take a friend who’s never experience a dining experience like it! I prefer dining at the counter is the best. Unique and delicious dishes that always your mouth watering to try more! My only complaint is wine & sake selection. The prices for wines were a bit high (especially, for a Portuguese or Spanish white wine). I understand mark-ups for wine in a restaurant, but the prices should have varied better.

   I was really disappointed by the service. Our server, came by when we first got seated and said he’d be back for us to order drinks and food, but never did. In fact, he walked past our table 4 times without checking on us. The last time, we had put our empty water carafe at the end in hopes he would see it and fill it but he did not. We had to waive him down and ask other random servers to order. He didn’t come back to check on us until we were halfway through the meal. The food is very good and reasonably priced considering it’s SF and it’s a Michelin stared place. I’ve been before and the service was no where near this bad.

   Went with family and had a delightful meal. Interesting twist to Asian food. The concept of a dumpling-styled food service was great as it allowed us to explore a variety of options. I found the coating of the fried bird a bit too overpowering. Pork belly was excellent.

   My wife and I recently took my sister and her husband, who were visiting from Charlotte, to State Bird Provisions, and it was nothing short of amazing. The food was absolutely exceptional—each dish was a perfect blend of creativity and flavor. My sister and her husband couldn’t stop raving about how unique the food was, especially the bold use of spices. It was a hit with all of us! The ambiance was also fantastic. The space has a warm and inviting vibe that strikes the perfect balance between trendy and comfortable, making it a great spot for both special occasions and casual nights out. What truly elevated our experience, though, was our waiter. He was excellent—extremely friendly, attentive, and impressively knowledgeable about the menu. He had such a genuine enthusiasm for the food and shared thoughtful recommendations, which we greatly appreciated. At one point, we mentioned we’d heard Ryan Gosling had dined here, and he surprised us by saying he’d actually been Ryan’s waiter! He even told us about the time Ryan came in with Eva Mendes and their two kids. Such a cool story to hear directly from someone who was part of it! State Bird Provisions delivered on every level: amazing food, great atmosphere, and top-notch service. My sister and her husband loved it as much as we did. We’ll definitely be back and can’t recommend it highly enough!

   We were able to snag a 5:30 tables at the counter on Friday night. Doors open at 5:30 and reservations are highly recommended and there is a waitlist line for those without. The team has a chat and a cheer before opening the doors and the vibe is upbeat and cheery. The waitstaff is friendly and accommodating. Our server explained how the menu worked and asked if we had any food allergies which we did. He consulted on the current menu and marked it so we me what was okay, what could be modified and what simply could not which was very helpful. We ordered a porter beer and I had 2 glasses of Syrah. The wine by the glass selection was nothing special but good. Most of the dishes are served dim sum style, tiny bites for two which allows you to sample many without getting too full to enjoy the experience. We began with a couple of oysters which my companion said were delicious. Then we shared the duck pate with teeny corn muffins. It was creamy with a great flavor. Then we shared the smoked trout dip with potato chips. Yummy with a nice balance of flavors., I ordered the broccoli which was a bit of a disappointment- blanched broccoli with some everything bagel seasoning thrown on it. Next up were these fabulous tiny pork ribs with a spicy sauce. Then we had a burrata topped with 5 pepper and in top of some sort of bread. It was good but not outstanding. I then ordered the beef tartare that was to die for in its complexity of flavors. Lastly we skipped dessert to try the blue corn pancakes with bruised bacon and coffee butter that simply rocked. Our damage was $175 I highly recommend you give this place a try!

    SBP is an amazing spot. The food is delicious. They have a set menu as well tapas style dishes they present to you. These items run from $6-$16. Great spot to go with a few friends. The staff is friendly and very attentive.
