Tucked away in the heart of former spa town Matlock, Stones is a cosy restaurant serving modern British cuisine. The restaurant’s interior is smart and intimate while the kitchen marries British produce with recipes inspired by international cuisine. Don’t be fooled by the apparent simplicity of the seasonal lunch and dinner menus, every dish demonstrates the culinary imagination, technique and flair of the vibrant kitchen team, led by head chef Kevin Stone. The additional tasting menu offers eight courses partnered with a carefully selected optional flight of wine. Catering for all dietary requirements, Stones offer distinct vegetarian and GF menu. Diners can enjoy views overlooking the coursing waters of the River Derwent.                           Another great meal at Stones. Food, service and ambience lovely. We found the music unnecessary and rather loud. We didn’t remember this from our previous visits. We are lucky to have such a high class restaurant in Matlock.

                          This was a lovely lunch to celebrate two birthdays. The food was exceptional - every dish was a triumph. Service is great - attentive but not intrusive. We love Stones and will be back again as soon as we can. Thank you.

                          A fantastic evening, myself and my wife had a tremendous evening, we chose the the 8 course tasting menu, each course was beautifully presented and tasted amazing, servers were really knowledgeable and attentive without being too noticeable. All in all a fabulous evening .

                          Another very lovely meal at Stones. Waiting for a booking is the only downside, beautiful food, service and ambience. We enjoy the Bluebell for more regular meals in between. Thank you.
