We went during restaurant week and dined at one of the four tops in the bar area. The food was outstanding for all three courses. Our server was exceptional and kept bringing us updates from the Chief's play-off game.Is this helpful?

The food did not disappoint-it was as good as it always is! The butternut squash soup was amazing, we had salmon & mahi-mahi fantastic as well. Dessert do not miss the carrot cake it is unbelievably delicious. As for noise level/ambience it was KCRW dinner 6p, it was packed food runners moving swiftly around the tables almost frenetic pace. I think if they had background music it would give it a more calming vibe. I love the restaurant.Is this helpful?

Came for restaurant week. Started with the Caesar salad and the green salad - both very good. My husband ordered the beef short ribs as his entree and I ordered the mahi mahi. Both were excellent and filling. For dessert, we got one of each. The donuts were good but wished it came with ice cream or something to accompany it. The carrot cake was probably the favorite though. Overall good experience. Would return to try their regular menu.Is this helpful?

My party and I wanted to try somewhere new during KC Restaurant Week to support our local restaurants. A place we hadn't heard of, yet had a Prix Fixe Menu offering that looked interesting. One that featured not only a variety of options for our guests, but items that were prepared and plated with unique flavor profiles. From beginning to end, our dining "experience" (that's what it was!) turned out to exceed even our highest excpectations. Who knew that a world-class dining experience could be found in the corner of a strip mall in Prairie Village, KS? But that's our "Story" and we're sticking to it . . . Enjoy!Is this helpful?

Smallish quaint restaurant. The service was top notch, and the food was incredible. Perfectly proportioned and visually stimulating. I had the Cesar salad, and salmon. The Cesar was crisp and tasty. The salmon was perfectly cooked with a nice outer crust but not overcooked inside. The sides complimented the entree. Since it was restaurant week it came with a dessert and I chose the donuts and my friend had the carrot cake. We both preferred the carrot cake. A very enjoyable experience and Jeremy our server was great.Is this helpful?

Haven’t been to Story for a long time & was looking forward to it. Our group was very disappointed!! ! Our server was excellent!! However- but we asked for olives in our martini we got charged $1.00 for an extra olive. We asked for a little extra olive juice to make it a little dirtier …. Again we got charged $1 for that as well. We have never ever been charged extra for olives or for a jigger of olive juice in any of the restaurants that we’ve had dirty martini’s. Also, we had a gift card that we were planning to use and they said they could only accept 10% of it. What a rip off I will never ever go back to Story!!! Extremely disappointingIs this helpful?

It felt a little off, maybe because it was restaurant week. Experienced both high and low notes. Beef short ribs were amazing. Onion rings were perfectly crispy. The mahi mahi was bland and the sauce too runny. Bisque was also amazing. Greens salad was underwhelming. Carrot cake for dessert also amazing. The signature donuts were not as I remember them. Drinks were overpriced and slow to be delivered.Is this helpful?
