Great welcome, first class service, excellent food with bumper portion sizes. Brisket was truly melt in mouth and really well seasoned. Our 8 year old grandson loved it and said the presentation of the starters reminded him of Masterchef! Well worth the 80 mile round trip. Highly recommended and we will be back.

We traveled from Rochester as we heard amazing things about this restaurant. We was not disappointed we welcomed by the lovely Sophia who was warm and friendly, the restaurant had a cozy atmosphere with great music playing, our food was outstanding, we all tried something different so we could try it all and everything was soooo good. The brisket was my favourite it was so tender and flavoursome it really was something else and the deep fried corn bread was delicious. We had such a fab night we can't wait to come back and visit and bring our children to experience this amazing food.

We had a Sunday bottomless brunch for 3 people. The waitress was very friendly but did seem stressed. The chef was very friendly and happy to supply more and more food and was great with one of the kids on a neighboring table. The food was delicious and we certainly left satisfied. Slightly disappointed that when they opened at 12pm and our booking was 12.30 there wasn't any brisket available, something we were very excited for. The restaurant is very small and they have as many tables as physically possible in there however this does mean it isn't wheelchair friendly. Overall a satisfying visit.

Very small restaurant, sat quite close together near other customers. Food was good, unfortunately my glass had a very clinical taste to it and the tables/chairs were very sticky I assume from cleaning product but found we were sticking to everything and my hair/clothes were sticking to the chair. Also the meal itself was quite messy which wasn’t a problem but a napkin didn’t quite cut it, perhaps warm hand towels at the end offered to customers. I noticed everyone got up to wash their hands after which is ok but there is only one toilet so this could be tricky if the restaurant is full. Overall was a nice experience, the chef was lovely and the waitress didn’t say much but was welcoming enough.

An amazing experience with happy, attentive staff that made us feel welcome the instant we arrived. The food was sublime and they were more than accommodating with my particular fussiness they made us feel as if nothing was too much trouble. The tenderness of the ribs and smoking of the brisket was a delight to eat. Will definitely be returning as soon as the food coma wears off. Thank you to all at the smoke shack for making it a wonderful experience.

Warm welcome, friendly service and great food in a cozy relaxed restaurant. The food is very good quality and the chef even popped out to see how we were doing and explained some of the cuts of meat and where it is sourced from.

The pricing of the food is high but so is the quality and flavours. Great staff who made us feel welcome and supported me to celebrate my birthday with a complimentary desert. Will defiantly be returning for more brisket for sure !!!!

We really enjoyed our meal, the brisket melted in your mouth and ribs fell off the bone. Loved the baked beans and corn bread.

Overall, unfortunately pretty underwhelming. Granted, I had got myself pretty excited after looking at their website and Instagram, so my expectations were high, and the food was cooked pretty well, but for a smoke shack, it was distinctly lacking in smoked flavour throughout the meal, and for the price, you can’t help but feel a little hard done by. There was 2 of us and we shared the ‘Sharing Starter Platter (£28)’ to start, which was nice enough, but the 4 ‘smoked’ pork belly bites and the 3 ‘smoked’ chicken wings were deep fried, so you couldn’t taste any smoked flavour, and they only had a light drizzle of sauce, so lacking in flavour. The 2 sticky fried ribs, however, were the best item on there and very tasty, although lukewarm for fried ribs. The 3 hush puppies were nice, but didn’t really do much for me. For the main, we shared ‘The King’s Taster (£60)’, which did not meet my expectations. There were 2 slices of ‘smoked’ brisket, which were severely lacking in flavour and were watery, 2 ‘super thick’ pork ribs, which didn’t have much meat on as the name suggests, a small pile of pulled pork, again lacking in flavour, 2 smoked chicken thighs, which were nice, and the best item on there was the gourmet boar and pork smoked sausage, which was delicious and smoky. To be honest, I appreciate the work that goes into smoking the meat etc, but I expected feast for £60. Also, we ordered the mac n cheese and fries for sides, and the mac n cheese was not proper mac n cheese as seen on their instagram, but more like cheese and pasta mixed with a bit of cream. I didn’t think I’d be writing a review like this when I first turned up but after the underwhelming meal and a bill of £128 (including £12 booking fee, drinks, service charge and VAT) for 2 of us, I can’t help be feel it’s justified, which is sad, because I thought we had found a real gem.
