I took my wife to the Boathouse for Valentine’s Day dinner. We weren’t seated at 5:20 pm across the room from the bar. My wife saw the Happy Hour menu and decided to have a glass of wine. The waiter told her that she could not get the wine at the Happy Hour price because our table wasn’t in the “bar area,” though the bar was in clear view from our table. The glass of wine would cost considerably more, apparently, because we weren’t a few tables closer to the bar. My wife was very disappointed, and it seemed to me to be an absurd distinction between the “bar area” and where our table wasn’t located. The food was good, though the calamari we ordered were smaller than we were expecting, and mixed with fried peppers.

We ate there last evening. It was warm but windy and threatening rain. We had booked an outdoor table but given the circumstances we hoped for an inside or at least an upper porch table. They would not accommodate. An hour later they seated another party on the upper porch when they complained and there were many empty tables when we left. We like this place but felt we received poor customer service.

Excellent service from our server Jeremy! Always consistent food, delicious and artistic. Love the ambience, but it’s very noisy. Two people in our party have hearing aids, and they had a difficult time hearing the conversation. Everyone just gets louder and louder, as everyone in the restaurant shouts over the next table. We will return, but only in the off-hours when it’s less crowded.

We’ve been there a couple of times. We had reservations and they sat us right away. It was a nice night so we sat outside. The wait staff was attentive and the manager checked in on us. The food is very good, my filet migon was cooked perfectly, my wife’s grouper was equally delicious. Appetizers of crab stuffed mushrooms and a spicy tuna roll were good also. We had a nice dinner, I would go back.

We are always impressed with the food and the service. Tonight however, the bar did not have Grey Goose Vodka for my wife’s drink. All- in- all a good experience.
